Advocacy is fundamental to improving for people with hearing loss. It involves teamwork, dedication and accepting that the path to success is rarely a straight line. Celebrating the people who jump into that work is important!

That's why we're so happy for Andrea Kaneb, a member of HLAA's Board of Directors. Andrea was recently awarded the 2026 Outstanding Advocate of the Year Award from the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. HLAA is lucky to have her involved with its work. She's an inspiration to us all.

"I'm here to build a network."
"You're able to learn from people who have been here before. You learn the tips and tricks they use to navigate life every day."
"We're trying to climb the ladder to make our presence known."

NEWS FLASH! 📣 We're pulling back the curtain on HLAA's behind-the-scenes work advocating for key hearing health policies on a national, state and local level.
