Jennifer Johnston lost feeling on the left side of her body while getting dressed for a soccer game. Four days later, she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis.
She learned years on hormonal birth control could have been a factor to her new diagnosis.

So she founded Elle, MD and created The Better Ring, a non-hormonal vaginal ring inserted and removed monthly, as easily as a tampon. Her company is finally giving women new and effective alternatives to traditional hormonal birth control.

1 in 4 women suffer from pelvic floor disorders — yet there’s still a gap in tools that make pelvic floor therapy accessible. Gabriele Niederauer, CEO and co-founder of Freyya, is working to change that.

Freyya is developing a tampon-like wearable that helps women rehabilitate pelvic muscles they can’t see or feel. Through Springboard’s Women’s Health Accelerator, founders like Gabriele get mentorship from a board of advisors to help bring their innovations to market.
