This week, the guidance changed. New clinical guidelines for primary care doctors now list hormone therapy as the first-line treatment for menopausal hot flashes and night sweats. There is a clear plan for women who cannot take hormones too.

Warren’s Drug Store has been a part of Mebane since 1933, and one thing we’re proud of is that through all those years, Warren’s has always been a family-owned business. It may not have always been the same family, but the values behind this drug store have stayed much the same.

We believe in working hard, taking care of our family, and doing right by the people who trust us with their business. That’s how we were raised, and that’s how we believe a business ought to be run. When somebody walks through our doors, we want them to know they’re more than just another customer to us. We want to know their name, ask how their family is doing, and make sure they get the kind of care we would want for our own.

A lot has changed around Mebane over the years, and we know there are plenty of places folks can choose to do business. That's why it means so much to us when people choose to shop local and support a family-owned store like ours. Hot flashes and night sweats just got new guidance.

On October 6, the American College of Physicians released new clinical guidelines for primary care doctors. Hormone therapy is now listed as the first-line treatment for menopausal hot flashes and night sweats.

For years, many women were told to wait it out. A lot of that caution traced back to a 2002 study whose findings were applied too broadly.

Hormone therapy is not right for everyone. But it is worth a real conversation.

Getting a flu shot should not be difficult just because leaving home is.

Warren’s Drug Store can now provide in home flu vaccines for eligible patients with Medicare Part B, with no cost to the patient.

This can be a great option for older adults, people with limited mobility, patients who are immunocompromised, or anyone who depends on family or caregivers to get to appointments.

Instead of trying to arrange transportation or make a trip to the pharmacy, we can come to you.
If you have a parent, grandparent, neighbor, or loved one who may benefit from an in home flu vaccine, please share this with them.

• Rely on a caregiver for transportation
