In honor of National Mental Health Awareness Month, we are sharing a blog post by Karla Deal, ACHA’s Senior Program & Peer Support Coordinator, which was originally posted by the Ollie Hinkle Heart Foundation (OHHF). Karla is pictured here (at left) advocating last week on behalf of the CHD community in Washington, D.C., along with Jordan Troxel, a member of ACHA's Patient & Family Advisory Board.

What an energizing and inspiring day spent on the Hill yesterday! We are so thankful to everyone who attended Every 100th Heart’s National Congenital Heart Disease Advocacy Summit to meet with policymakers to advocate for the need for CHD to be prioritized at the federal level. ACHA is so proud to be an Every 100th Heart founding partner and to have had 40+ volunteers and staff travel to Washington, D.C, to participate in this important day.
