Today, I walked across that stage carrying more than just a degree. I carried every version of myself that fought to survive long enough to see this moment.
There were seasons in my life where I honestly did not know if I would make it here. Seasons filled with pain, addiction, confusion, grief, fear, and rebuilding. But by the grace of God, I made it through every single one of them. Alive. Sober. Healing. Whole.
And although that chapter of my life belonged to Alisa Rodriguez, today was about honoring the testimony that came from surviving it all. That part of my story will always matter because it helped shape the person I am becoming today. 💖
It may have taken me 13 years to finish this degree, but I finished it. And honestly? I think doing it the long way makes this moment even more meaningful.
Today I officially graduated from Eastern Florida State College with my AA degree, and I’m so proud to say that this journey is not ending here. 🌸
Next stop: Luther Rice College & Seminary.
I’m continuing my education as I pursue the calling God placed on my life and step into the path toward becoming Pastor Abel. 💐🙏🏼
Committed to the calling, not the comfort. ✨
