We had a nice little group meeting on Monday for the FIRST CHRONIC PAIN & ILLNESS SUPPORT GROUP. Thank you to those who came and were willing to share their stories. Lymphedema in the summer 🌴🌻🌞🌼

Managing lymphedema in the summer requires special care to prevent swelling and maintain comfort. Here are some tips:

-Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to reduce swelling.
-Wear Compression Garments: Use breathable, comfortable options like those from medi®.
-Keep Cool: Avoid heat and humidity, stay in air-conditioned areas, and use cool compresses.
-Skin Care: Use high-SPF sunscreen, wear protective clothing, and keep your skin clean and moisturized.
-Exercise Regularly: Engage in gentle activities like swimming or walking.
-Elevate Limbs: Raise affected limbs when resting to promote fluid drainage.
-Avoid Tight Clothing: Choose loose-fitting clothes to ensure proper circulation.
-Diet: Eat a balanced diet low in salt to minimize fluid retention.
