Hello, September! 🍂🤎

A new month, a fresh start, and the beginning of one of our favorite seasons!

September is a reminder that you don't have to do everything at once. Take a deep breath, slow down when you need to, soak up the little moments, and give yourself plenty of grace—especially in the beautiful chaos of motherhood. 🤍

Here's to cooler days, cozy moments, healthy babies, supported moms, and a month full of good things. 🍁✨

Happy September! 🫶🏼

Pregnancy comes with approximately **ONE MILLION questions and worries.** 😂🤰🏼

“Is my baby okay?”
“Will I know what to do?”
“What will labor be like?”
“Will my body recover?”
“WHAT IF I CAN’T BREASTFEED?!”

As lactation consultants, we can't take away every worry that comes with becoming a mom—but we *can* help take some of the unknown out of breastfeeding. 🤱🏼🤍

We can answer your questions, talk through what to expect, help you prepare before baby arrives, troubleshoot challenges, and support you if things don't go exactly as planned.

You don't have to wait until you're struggling to ask for help. **The more you know before baby arrives, the more confident you can feel when it's time to feed your little one.**

Have a breastfeeding question? **Ask us!** That's what we're here for. 🫶🏼

Want to support a breastfeeding mom? 🤱🏼🤍

Sometimes the best support has nothing to do with breastfeeding itself.

💧 Bring her water and snacks
🍽️ Make her a meal
🧺 Do the laundry or dishes
👶🏼 Take the baby between feeds
😴 Encourage her to rest
💬 Offer encouragement instead of criticism
🩷 Help her find a lactation consultant if she needs one
🤍 And most importantly, ask: **“What can I do to make today easier?”**

Breastfeeding can be beautiful, exhausting, rewarding, and challenging—all at the same time. Having someone in your corner can make a HUGE difference.

Support the mom, support her choices, and remind her that she doesn't have to do it all alone. 🫶🏼

Breastfeeding moms: **keep that water bottle close! 💧🤱🏼**

Breast milk is about **87% water**, so staying hydrated is important for supporting your body while you're making milk. But here's a cool part: **oxytocin, the hormone released during breastfeeding, can increase your sensation of thirst.** That sudden *“I NEED WATER RIGHT NOW”* feeling when you sit down to nurse? Your body is giving you a pretty good cue. 😂

You don't need to force yourself to drink gallons of water to make more milk. **Drink to thirst**, keep water nearby when nursing or pumping, and drink more when you're exercising, sweating, sick, or in hot weather.

And remember—your fluids come from more than just water. Milk, smoothies, fruits, vegetables, soups, and other foods count too! 💧

Your body is doing a lot. Give it the hydration it needs. 🤍

Your postpartum journey isn't about "bouncing back"—it's about rebuilding. 🤍

Staying active after having a baby can help improve your energy, support your mental health, strengthen your core and pelvic floor, reduce aches and pains, and prepare your body for the demands of motherhood. Even something as simple as a daily walk or a few minutes of gentle movement can make a big difference.

Start where you are, listen to your body, and progress at a pace that feels right for you. Healing isn't a race, and movement is meant to support your recovery—not punish your body.

Strong moms aren't built overnight... they're built one step at a time. 💛

Breastfeeding is natural, but that doesn't mean it always comes naturally. 🤍

If fear, lack of confidence, pain, returning to work, or simply not knowing where to start are making you hesitant to breastfeed, you don't have to figure it out alone.

A lactation consultant can help you prepare before baby arrives, troubleshoot challenges after birth, create a pumping plan for returning to work, and provide evidence-based support every step of the way. Sometimes, having someone in your corner is the difference between giving up and reaching your breastfeeding goals.

Whatever you choose, you deserve support—not judgment. 💛
