More than 1 in 10 babies in Tennessee are born prematurely. While Tennessee's preterm birth rate has improved, the state still received a "D" on the March of Dimes Report Card.

Preterm birth can increase the risk of breathing difficulties, feeding challenges, developmental delays, and NICU stays.

Alysa on our Tennessee Lactation Care team represented us at the June 6th 2026 Manchester Community Baby Shower at Encounter Life Church to share breastfeeding education and support for mom’s in Middle Tennessee. The Community Baby Shower was a free event to provide education on local resources that help new mother’s  in the community. She was so happy to meet and chat with each of the new or soon to be new moms and dads who stopped by our table.

Motherhood is beautiful, but constantly pouring into everyone else without refilling your own cup can leave you exhausted. 🤍 Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s necessary. And sometimes you can’t wait around for someone else to plan the spa day, book the massage, or give you permission to rest. Sometimes you have to take your self-care into your own hands because you matter too. A cared-for mom is better able to care for everyone around her. 🫶
