El CDC recomienda la vacunación contra COVID-19 para todas las personas de cinco años en adelante. Sin embargo, los padres que tienen hijos e hijas con autismo y otras discapacidades intelectuales y del desarrollo pueden tener preguntas sobre la seguridad de las vacunas. En este video, un padre de un niño con autismo comparte la historia de su familia de educarse sobre la seguridad de las vacunas y aborda preocupaciones adicionales presentes en la comunidad hispana.
English: The CDC recommends vaccination against COVID-19 for everyone 5 years and older. However, parents who have sons and daughters with autism and other intellectual and developmental disabilities may have questions about vaccine safety. In this video, a parent of a child with autism shares her family’s story of educating themselves on vaccine safety and addresses additional concerns present in the Hispanic community. The videos were produced as part of a funding award from the U.S. Administration for Community Living, Dept of Health and Human Services. The CDC recommends vaccination against COVID-19 for everyone 5 years and older. However, some adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities still have questions about vaccine safety. Tennessee adults (18+) with disabilities and their adult caregivers and family members can now get a FREE COVID-19 vaccine in your own home, anywhere in the state. Anyone age 60+ is also eligible for an in-home vaccine.

We're partnering with University Clinical Health to open a drive-through COVID-19 testing site on the UTHSC campus starting TOMORROW, January 5, operating Monday – Friday, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm!
No appointments necessary, bring your ID (and insurance card if you have one), enter the line on Jefferson Avenue and head east to Dunlap Street. Testing is at the Van Vleet Building. Call 901.866.8980 for more info.

How many DSP's do you know that deserve an award for being awesome? Silly question- All of them of course!

Please consider nominating a DSP that you know who supports people with I/DD in the Employment and Community First (ECF) CHOICES and 1915c Waiver programs. Deadline for Nominations is August 27, 2021!

Award recipients will receive $500 with an additional opportunity for being recognized as the Statewide Rising Star with an additional monetary award.

Awards will be presented at an in-person reception at the TNCO conference on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 5:30pm at the Franklin Marriott in Cool Springs (700 Cool Springs Blvd, Franklin, TN 37067).
