The reason I picked my business name was to respect the impact Rolfing SI has on harmonizing the aggregates of one’s body and the various levels of one’s being. By evoking change and organization in the physical tissues and the body’s structure, changes are also experienced in emotional, mental, and spiritual layers of one’s being.

There is a strong connection between unsolved psychological conflicts and physical tension, according to psychologist and Certified Advanced Rolfer® Thomas Heinrich. If an inner conflict is not solvable, the muscle tension becomes chronic which can lead to a thickening of collagen fibres and stiffening of the tissue.

Rolfing® can activate a memory of the situation that has created the conflict, which is mostly experienced as a relief by the client. Rolfing doesn’t just affect a person on a body level, but also on an emotional and cognitive level.
