Yoga is derived from the sanskrit word yuj which means union. Yoga has allowed me to calm the fluctuations in my mind and has taught me how to listen and connect with my body. I have been a part of incredible classes led by teachers who allow their students the space they need to move in their own bodies, celebrating how each body moves, and understanding that each body is different. Because of the space created by teachers, yoga has helped me heal through letting go of trauma I have held onto. Now, I honor what I have learned about the origins of yoga when I teach yoga. I honor the teachers from past and present when I teach. I honor them by continuing to learn, heal, and grow in my practice as a student and a teacher of yoga.

Educators have the most important job on the planet. I have had the pleasure to work alongside over 1,000 educators in my career and I can say without a doubt they are the largest group of empaths and incredible human beings. Of course I’m highlighting teachers when I say they have the most important job but if you have a role teaching or influencing a child’s development, you have stepped into the most influential space to hold on earth. This encompasses not only individuals in schools but moms, dads, family members, your tribe, the list goes on and on… It is only right that we do our duty to love who we are, know what our self care looks like, and show up as our most authentic self each day - as they are watching and learning from what we do and who we are. The best part is this work is really for ourselves but it shines onto the people around us.
If you are an educator and want support wherever you are in your self care journey we got you! Sign-up or inquire with me or check out our Glysa Educator Retreats this summer.✌🏻❤️
