Age is literally just a number.

My post-menopausal clients probably have more energy than you.

Because they are working WITH their body instead of trying to force it to do what you used to do.

Being in your 30’s means you cannot run off of caffeine and a bite of bread anymore. Your body can’t compensate anymore which is why it feels so exhausting.

Okay maybe a few things.

This is why the cleanest eating people that you know, are still struggling.

1. Gut health. You HAVE to fix your gut and continue supporting your gut or the toxins that are meant to leave your body, just continue recirculating and causing damage.
2. BLOOD SUGAR REGULATION. I don’t care if your doctor told you that you aren’t diabetic or show no signs of insulin resistance. Congrats, we are still going to eat for your blood sugar. Just because your body is able to force some sort of normal blood sugar doesn’t mean that your body is happy about it. It usually is trying to tell you but you are ignoring the symptoms.
3. Eating ENOUGH. How do you expect to heal in a constant deficit? We need enough calories to survive, plus calories to move our body some, plus more for healing. It’s not going to happen if you are subtly starving yourself.

Especially if it’s an every day concern, there is more going on.

Yes, we will have days that are more tiring than others from their sleep interruptions, sickness, or just busy body energy (my son).

BUT if it becomes a daily issue or you have to have caffeine to even get moving, we need to talk.

There could be a number of issues at play including hormonal changes.

I’d want to know what your sleep looks like? Is it cyclical? What’s your digestion like? Are you absorbing the nutrients you are consuming? Water intake? Enough daily calories? Blood sugar crashes? Adrenal health? Thyroid function?

It’s worth looking into instead of wasting years thinking it’s “normal”.

Your kids are important but so are you. You can’t pour from an empty cup forever.

It’s time to prioritize YOU. I’ve got you mama 🫶🏽

It’s honestly the toughest habit to break.

It is ENGRAVED into us that it’s as simple as eating less.

But it’s not.

Most of the overweight women I meet hardly eat at all.

It’s because there is more to it than just calories in and calories out.

We have hormonal/thyroid changes that make losing weight harder. Plus I guarantee your body just doesn’t feel safe enough to let go of its ONE security blanket (fat).

As counterintuitive as it sounds, you need to EAT to lose weight. Which is why it feels harder than it should be. We all think we need to simply starve ourselves to reach our goal weight.

But that won’t work. It’s why you can actually starve yourself to death, even if you are overweight.

I’ve been there.

Even as a nurse, my OB gave me the same answer “Everything looks normal.”

But I knew that it wasn’t. And I knew there had to be more options than just more birth control or eventually HRT.

I even asked my doctor if I needed to make dietary changes and she told me no.

Yet, I did just that. After taking a DUTCH test myself, I learned that there was actually a lot going on and there were things that I could do to change that. Things I was never taught or told.

Once I started talking about it, I realized how many women were experiencing the same changes I did yet no one is talking about it.

So I created a business to do just that. I am advocating for the women that deserve better, for the women that were never taught, and for the health of women in the future (like my girls).

“We are breaking up with fad diets.” - this is one of my favorite quotes I’ve heard from one of my clients

Because it is true. We have become so conditioned to listening to fad diets that now, none of us truly know how to eat anymore.

It seems like no matter what we do (or eat), we gain weight. But it’s because we still have restrictive fad diets in the back of our mind telling us to eat less (or eat fat free/low carb). But the truth is, none of this will actually teach you how to lose weight sustainably or for the long term.

This is what I teach my clients who are wanting to lose weight:
1. It’s not about having the perfect body. It’s about having a body that has energy, feels incredible, and is stronger than you can imagine.
2. Your body needs to be properly fueled to lose weight. Do you think if your body continually felt starved, it’s going to let go of its one back up source of energy for survival?
3. You do need to balance your hormones and cortisol levels. Both will cause more fat storage than you want and no exercise or calorie deficit will help you.
4. Learn to eat for your blood sugar. This is the number one source of inflammation and raised cortisol. Learning how your body reacts to food will save you an immense amount of time and money. (Seriously, spend the $100 to buy the glucose monitor in my Amazon shop. It will change the way you look at food)
5. Food is a big part of weight loss but so is movement. Start slow if your cortisol levels are already out of whack. Like easy walks post meals (blood sugar bonus). Then move into true strength training. Muscle growth burns more energy (calories) than fat sources. Let alone it also helps you with insulin sensitivity and gives you the toned body you are wanting versus just losing fat.

WE ARE BREAKING UP WITH FAD DIETS.

It is more complex than just “eat smaller portions.”

There is science behind it, I promise!

Especially in the morning 👀

Say you wake up, and go right into a workout and then eat say 1-2 hours later.

There are a few bad things that happen actually in this scenario.

1. Our cortisol rhythm naturally rises in the morning. However, a workout also increases stress levels. (It’s a controlled stress but still stress). But your body is also pumping cortisol to fuel this workout because you are demanding energy when there is no fuel given. High cortisol stimulates fat storage. But also this cortisol production also comes from utilizing your hormones. So your hormones are lowered too.

2. As women, we should be eating protein within 60 mins of waking to regulate our blood sugar for the entire day. Not only are we not having any protein in the first hour, we again are demanding energy with no fuel. That fuel comes from cortisol and glucose storages (aka sugar directly in your blood stream). This causes approximately TEN hours of blood sugar direction which means 10 hours of cortisol/inflammation to keep trying to balance out.

This could all change by simply eating a small amount of carbs and protein before working out! And you will have more weight loss and muscle growth too for the same work! 🫶🏽

I swear, we are so quick to prescribe before even telling our patients how they got there in the first place..

It’s literally why I left bedside. Because I was given the same answer.

I talked to someone today that their doctor wanted to prescribe HRT before even testing hormones… and she’s in her 30’s 😵‍💫

How about educating on our detox pathways? Gut health? Cortisol? Blood sugar? Thyroid? Plastics? Fragrances?

We can’t expect our patients to reach optimal health unless we give them the full picture!!!

My goal is to educate my clients enough so they DON’T need me. I’m not trying to rope you in for long term care. I want to give you the tools and educate you so you can heal yourself and your friends and family.
