🧘‍♀️ Boat Pose (Navasana) Progress Step by Step

Navasana strengthens your core, hip flexors, thighs, and back while improving balance, posture, and body control. The key is to progress gradually rather than forcing the full pose.

🔹 Beginner: Keep the chest open and support behind the knees.
🔹 Intermediate: Extend the legs while keeping the shins parallel to the floor and gaze forward.
🔹 Advanced: Engage the core strongly, straighten the legs, and keep the feet active.

✨ Benefits:
• Builds deep core strength
• Strengthens hip flexors and legs
• Improves balance and stability
• Supports better posture
• Enhances concentration and body awareness

Tip: Keep your spine long and avoid collapsing through the lower back. Quality of alignment matters more than how straight your legs are.

I've also suggested try lifting just one leg at a time, hold for a few moments then switch legs until core strength is build enough to hold both legs up.

Farewell August...I love you & hope to see you again.
Well....helllloooo September! Been a while!
Welcome back!

Every year around this time
I feel a bit homesick.

Homesick perhaps for a place I've never been.
All the places I've lived, I've no desire to go back.
But homesick all the same.

There are so many places yet to explore.
I long for crisp walks in a place to discover.
I long for layered clothing and boots!
I long to see the color explosion of leaves
as they turn red, orange and golden then brown.

I long for a day that was and yet not been seen.

For new friendships.
For love.

Yes, nostalgic is a good word for how I feel this am.
A walk on the beach will do me good.

There are a lot of changes going on in my life.
Some have been a long time coming.
I embrace it all.

I thank everyone who supported me on my journey.
I forgive those who showed their true colors.

I love every moment of my life.
Even the hard things. They made me strong.
Even the friendship lost. That made me wiser.
Even the times I had no clue how I would make it.

All help me help others know
you can take a long walk through hell
and come out and rise like a Phoenix.

I am at peace.
I am finally at peace, confident and
secure knowing I manifested an amazing
life and can help empower other women
realize their dreams.

Count your blessings.

Let your vibe be a product of your heart
and not your environment.

Spirit says Follow your wanderlust heart ✨💫✨💫

Always,
Tandy

Ever feel like your body and mind just need a total reset button?

That is exactly what Reiki offers. Reiki is a gentle, Japanese energy-healing practice focused on deep relaxation and restoring inner balance.

During a session, you remain fully clothed while a practitioner lightly places their hands on or just above your body to help balance your natural energy.

It acts like a boost for your internal battery, calming your nervous system to provide powerful anxiety relief and clear out mental clutter.

By washing away the day's stress, it melts away physical tension and paves the way for much better, deeper sleep. It is completely non-invasive, incredibly peaceful, and a wonderful way to give yourself the quiet rest you deserve.

Booking in person and distance sessions.

Greetings! If you knew me once upon a time or never, I'd love to (re)introduce myself to you lovely people!

I am passionate about many things in life and sometimes feel there is not enough time to do all the things, go all the places, and be all the versions of me there are to live this incredible life I'm the creatrix of!

My Human Design Profile and Type is 1/3 Generator, Emo SP, Undefined Root and G Centers. Lots of openness in my Channels. I bore quickly, I'm sometimes (mostly) impatient, I have zero tolerance for stupid s**t. 👈 Biggest pet peeve 🤣 If you know Human Design and/or astrology, you now know quite a bit about me! lol!!

On top of all that....I'm a Virgo!!!! Like a very very Virgo, in my Sun and many many Planets, with my Moon in Mercury! 💓🌙

I am a student and I am a teacher. I don't know which I love most!
(there's my 1/3 lines!)

I've enjoyed having Yorkies spanning 38 years of my life! And that's only 3 of them!! I've also enjoyed countless cats (mostly Black cats) that have graced me with their presence since childhood to this very day!

I am a witchy woman. I'm unique and wild. Okay, I've calmed a bit with age, but boy do I have stories to tell!!

I have been married twice. The first time really didn't count 🤣 My second marriage after 10 years I was widowed and never felt the urge to go there again.

I love teaching yoga and I love my daily practice. I love lifting weights and I love boxing. I've been a personal trainer for 20+ years.

My bday was Saturday and I just really let everything sink in with where I am, how I feel and my goals. I let go of the things, people and places that no longer resonate or serve my higher timeline.

A lot of people will cross our path, some are simply not meant to stay. If we're lucky, we meet people who will be with us for very long periods of time. I'm blessed for both scenarios.

A lady asked me yesterday if anyone ever told me I remind them of Stevie Nicks. I laughed, because yes, people have told me that for decades! Maybe it's that witchy vibe! But I cannot imagine life without music.

I am a creative gal, I always have been. From costumes I made for myself when I was a dancer, to painting, to singing, to how I decorate my surroundings, and now my written art. I love making everything around me beautiful!

Of course there's all kinds of life things, like everyone of us has that doesn't need to be blasted here. I work a lot (I thrive on that) I blocked my old boyfriend who kept contacting me even though he got married, ewwww, and my main focus is on health and wellness because I have things I want to be able to do for years to come.

I've shared bits and pieces of my story over the years. It is not a pretty story, it was hard with trauma, abuse, loss, and pain. But I share those times so others know you can walk through hell, kiss the underbelly of the beast, come out on the other side and have an amazing life. It's all in our choices and mindset.

The things that are going on in my life right now warrant another book. I'll keep a cap on it for now. My main job is to stay focused and not let what is not in my control rule me or my life. I'll have or at least hope to have, an outcome of this situation in a couple of months.

So, that's about it or at least all I'll share for now.

If you are here, just know this is a business page. It has evolved over the years but pretty much the past 13 years or so I've promoted my businesses here.

If you've read to here, thank you, I love you, stay hydrated!!

Celestially yours,
Tandy

" What Does Metabolic Health Mean & Ways to Support Your Health"

Hello! I’m Tandy and excited to be here and to share ways we can all be strong and healthy! My background is a 20-year career in fitness, wellness, and nutrition.

My humble beginnings into the fitness world started with me being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and obesity. The catalyst to changing my life and lifestyle was losing 100+ pounds and reversing diabetes and maintaining that now for over 22 years.

Ah-ha…our metabolic health really has no official definition! What we do know is that metabolic health can act as markers to how our bodies respond to our lifestyle and choices, albeit food and alcohol and possibly other choices of consumption.

Metabolic health is how well your body turns food into energy and manages vital internal functions. You have good metabolic health when your blood sugar, blood pressure, cholesterol, and waist size stay in a healthy range without medicine.

Some experts say that metabolic health means the absence of metabolic syndrome, which is a group of risk factors that contribute to the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, stroke, and other metabolic diseases.

Your food choices, metabolism, microbiome, exercise, sleep, stress, and mental health, as well as your age, s*x, and genes, all shape your unique metabolic health.

Doctors look at five main numbers to check your metabolic health:
• Blood sugar: Fasting glucose under 100 mg/dL.
• Blood pressure: At or below 120/80 mmHg.
• Triglycerides: Blood fats below 150 mg/dL.
• HDL cholesterol: "Good" cholesterol above 40 mg/dL for men and 50 mg/dL for women.
• Waist size: Less than 40 inches for men and 35 inches for women.

Why It Matters
• Lowers disease risk: Good metabolic health lowers your chance of getting heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and stroke.
• Differs from weight: You can look thin and still have poor metabolic health or carry extra weight and be metabolically healthy.
• Metabolic syndrome: Having three or more out-of-range markers means you have metabolic syndrome, which signals a high risk of chronic illness.

How to Improve It
• Eat whole foods: Focus on fiber, lean proteins, and healthy fats while cutting down on sugary foods and refined carbs that spike your blood sugar.
• Move more: Get regular physical activity like walking, running, or lifting weights to help your cells use insulin properly.
• Sleep and stress: Get enough rest and lower your stress to help keep your hormones and energy levels balanced. Source: ZOE foundation and the National Academy of Sports Medicine.

Physical activity plays a huge role in our metabolic health and when we find ourselves looking for ways to exercise that fit our lifestyle, Zone 2 which is designed for getting our heart rate to increase, is very doable for most of us and the cardio exercises we implement can help us enhance mitochondrial function and long-term fat oxidation.

Zone 2 cardio is a low-to-moderate intensity exercise performed at 60–70% of maximum heart rate (a conversational pace). It uniquely targets Type I slow-twitch muscle fibers to stimulate mitochondrial biogenesis, dramatically boosting cellular energy production, metabolic flexibility, and long-term fat oxidation without excessive systemic fatigue. Source: American Fitness Association.

To be metabolically healthy means that your body is able to respond to food in a beneficial way that reduces your risk of conditions such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.

Tips for supporting your health –
Create a menu, even if for a few days a week, you have a plan!
Make a list of what you’ll need from the grocery to help stay on track.
Create time for your exercise! That can look like incorporating things you already love to do, brisk walks, riding your bike, taking fitness classes, going to the gym. There are so many options of ways to get your exercise in, and we want to do that more days on than off.

Coupled with an active lifestyle, watching what we consume is a perfect recipe for better health, wellness and quality of life as we age.

Please feel free to ask questions! Thank you!

Always,
Tandy

🧘‍♀️ GOMUKHASANA ARMS (Cow Face Arms)

Gomukhasana arms are a simple but effective stretch for the shoulders, upper back and triceps. The goal is to bring one arm overhead and the other behind the back, gradually moving the hands closer without forcing the shoulders.

❌ Avoid: Pushing through pain, rounding the spine, or forcing the hands to touch.

✅ Adjust: Use a yoga strap/towel between the hands if they don’t reach.

✨ Benefits:
• Improves shoulder flexibility and mobility
• Stretches the triceps and upper back
• Helps release shoulder and neck tension
• Encourages better upper-body posture
• Improves range of motion in the arms

⏱️ How long?
Hold for 20–30 seconds per side, gradually working up to 45–60 seconds. Repeat 2–3 rounds on each side while breathing slowly and comfortably.

Tip: Keep your chest lifted and shoulders relaxed. Flexibility develops gradually—never force the position.

✨ Master the Half Forward Fold (Ardha Uttanasana)! ✨

A flat back is more important than touching the floor.

Hinge from your hips, engage your core, and keep your spine long.

If your hands don't reach the floor comfortably, place them on yoga blocks to maintain proper alignment and protect your lower back.

Blocks are a tool to support us in our yoga journey. Some people think using 'tools' means something is lacking but reframe that thought to understand the tools we use in yoga, blocks, straps, chairs, are all supporting us for a safe and effective practice.

Benefits:
✓ Helps improve spinal alignment and posture
✓ Activates the core for better stability
✓ Stretches the hamstrings and calves
✓ Reduces strain on the lower back by maintaining a neutral spine
✓ Encourages proper hip hinging for safer forward bends

Good form always beats deeper range. Practice mindfully and let your flexibility improve naturally. 🧘‍♀️

Downward Dog: Small Adjustments, Big Results!

Many people practice Downward-Facing Dog with their chest collapsing forward, hips sinking, and too much weight in the arms. This can place unnecessary stress on the wrists, shoulders, neck, and lower back, leading to discomfort and poor posture over time.

Correct Form Benefits:
• Lengthens and decompresses the spine
• Strengthens shoulders, arms, and core
• Improves hamstring and calf flexibility
• Reduces pressure on wrists and lower back
• Enhances posture, balance, and body awareness
• Promotes better blood circulation and energy flow

Wrong Form May Cause:
• Wrist and shoulder strain
• Neck tension and headaches
• Lower back compression and pain
• Rounded upper back posture
• Reduced core engagement
• Less effective stretch and muscle activation

Remember: Focus on lifting the hips, engaging the core, pressing the floor away, and keeping the spine long rather than forcing the heels to touch the ground.
