🥵 Your deodorant is blocking one of your body’s most important detox pathways.
Most people think sweat is just... gross. Something your body does that needs to be stopped. But your sweat glands are actually one of the main exits your body uses to push out heavy metals, BPA, and phthalates. When you apply conventional antiperspirant, you’re plugging that exit with aluminum compounds.
And here’s where it gets serious. Aluminum has been found in breast tissue biopsies and lymph nodes. That’s not a fringe claim, that’s in the research. Most people using conventional antiperspirant every single day have no idea they’re absorbing aluminum through the skin, right next to lymph tissue.
The good news: this one is an easy swap.
🌱 Switch to a real natural deodorant (not the kind that just slaps “natural” on the label, most of those still contain aluminum). Give your body two to three weeks to adjust. Your microbiome needs time to reset, and yes, you might sweat a little more at first while your body recalibrates. That’s not a problem. That’s detox actually working.
This is Day 4 in our series on things quietly making you sick. The scary part isn’t that these things exist. It’s that we’ve been told they’re totally normal.
