🥵 Your deodorant is blocking one of your body’s most important detox pathways.

Most people think sweat is just... gross. Something your body does that needs to be stopped. But your sweat glands are actually one of the main exits your body uses to push out heavy metals, BPA, and phthalates. When you apply conventional antiperspirant, you’re plugging that exit with aluminum compounds.

And here’s where it gets serious. Aluminum has been found in breast tissue biopsies and lymph nodes. That’s not a fringe claim, that’s in the research. Most people using conventional antiperspirant every single day have no idea they’re absorbing aluminum through the skin, right next to lymph tissue.

💣 The chemical coating on your non-stick pan was originally developed to contain uranium for the atomic bomb. Then someone decided to put it in your kitchen.

In 1938 a DuPont chemist accidentally discovered polytetrafluoroethylene — PTFE — while trying to develop a new refrigerant.

Its first real application was inside the Manhattan Project. Scientists needed a material that could withstand the corrosive uranium hexafluoride used to purify uranium for the atomic bomb at Los Alamos and Oak Ridge. PTFE was the only substance that could handle it. 

From there it went into nose cones of proximity bombs, airplane engines, explosives manufacturing, and liquid fuel tank linings.

🍳 DuPont trademarked it as Teflon in 1944.

Ten years later a French engineer figured out how to bond it to aluminum and his wife tested it on a frying pan. By 1961 it was in American kitchens everywhere. 

Nobody paused to ask whether a chemical engineered to survive nuclear weapons manufacturing should be heated up and used to cook your eggs every morning.

Here is what happens when you do heat it up:
👉 Above 500 degrees Fahrenheit, a normal cooking temperature, the coating breaks down
👉 PFAS particles release directly into your food and into the air in your kitchen
👉 They are called forever chemicals because the human body has no efficient way to clear them

The swap is simple and cheap. A Lodge cast iron skillet is around $30, lasts generations, adds trace iron to your food, and has exactly zero PFAS. Stainless steel is equally clean and works well for anything that does not require high heat.

You do not need a chemical engineered for the atomic bomb to cook your dinner.

🍟 My personal standard as a practitioner: if I cannot recognize every ingredient as food, I do not consider it food.

In this case, it is called dimethylpolysiloxane.

It is a silicone-based anti-foaming agent added to the frying oil at Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, KFC, Five Guys, Domino’s, and dozens of other fast food chains. It keeps the oil from splattering during large-scale frying operations.

It is also the primary ingredient in Silly Putty. And it has been used as a filler in breast implants.

The FDA approved it for use in food in specific dosage limits. But there is no requirement for restaurants to disclose exactly how much is used, which makes adhering to those limits essentially unverifiable.

Studies have linked it to negative effects on the immune system and hormonal balance. And it is not the only thing hiding in those at this favorite fast food restaurant.

A Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich contains 55 ingredients. Among them:
👉 Dimethylpolysiloxane — the Silly Putty compound in the frying oil
👉 Sodium aluminum phosphate — aluminum is a known neurotoxin, flagged on EWG’s Dirty Dozen Additive Watch List
👉 Potassium iodate — banned from flour in Europe due to concerns about thyroid function
👉 DATEM and monoglycerides — potential sources of trans fats
👉 Calcium propionate — linked to irritability and attention problems in children
👉 MSG — added to boost flavor, linked to headaches and inflammatory responses in sensitive individuals
This is not a simple chicken sandwich. It is a chemistry experiment.

Stop Using Toxic Cutting Boards! 🔪

In my last post we talked about what is in your toothpaste……Today we fix it.

This is the toothpaste recipe I use personally and recommend to my patients. Three ingredients. Under 5 minutes. No lead, no arsenic, no fluoride, no SLS, no synthetic fragrance. Just ingredients your body actually recognizes.

Here is what goes into it and why:
🪥 Baking soda — gentle abrasive that removes surface stains and neutralizes acid in the mouth without damaging enamel.
🪥 Coconut oil — naturally antimicrobial. Kills harmful oral bacteria without disrupting the beneficial bacteria your oral microbiome needs to thrive.
🪥 Essential oil — antimicrobial, freshens breath naturally with zero synthetic fragrance or artificial flavor.

That is the entire ingredient list. You know what every single thing is. There is no fine print.

Every single day your body is absorbing things it was never designed to process.

‼️ The Luna Amendment has passed!!

Congress voted 280 to 142 to strip a provision from the Farm Bill that would have made it nearly impossible to sue pesticide companies for the harm their products cause. 🌾

It was called a “liability shield.” And it was designed to protect companies like Bayer, the manufacturer of Roundup, from lawsuits tied to glyphosate, a chemical with decades of research linking it to cancer.

Here’s what the provision would have done if it had passed:
❌ Blocked states from requiring stronger warning labels.
❌ Handed the EPA sole authority over pesticide safety decisions. ❌ Made it dramatically harder for individuals to hold manufacturers accountable in court.

The amendment to remove it passed with bipartisan support. States now keep the right to demand stricter warnings. Companies can still be sued.

Why does this matter to you? Because glyphosate is one of the most widely used herbicides in the world. It is on your food. It is in your water. And for years, the industry has fought hard to make sure you couldn’t do anything about it.

This vote doesn’t clean up your food supply overnight. But it keeps the door open for accountability, and that matters.
