Sometimes “overreacting” is actually a sign that your nervous system is overwhelmed.
When you’ve been under stress for a long time, even small things can start to feel really big. A missed text, a change in plans, a spilled drink, a difficult conversation — your body may respond as if it’s one more thing it can’t hold.
That doesn’t mean you’re dramatic, weak, or “too sensitive.” It may mean your nervous system has been carrying too much for too long.
When we live in chronic stress, our brains and bodies become more reactive because they’re trying to protect us. The goal isn’t shame. The goal is awareness.
Instead of asking:
“Why am I overreacting?”
Try asking:
“What has my nervous system been holding lately?”
Healing often begins when we respond to ourselves with curiosity instead of criticism. 🤍
