On September 13th, we’re coming together at IM Gallery in Highland Park for a special RAICES fundraiser benefiting Comedores Sociales de Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷💚

Comedores Sociales is a grassroots organization working to combat hunger in Puerto Rico while building something deeper: food sovereignty and sustainable, community-led food systems.

Their work supports local and small-scale agroecological farmers, community food distribution, composting and sustainable agriculture, helping communities become less dependent on imported food and more connected to the land and to one another. 🌱

And we’re bringing together different forms of art to support that mission:

Due to unclear weather and other factors, tonight's planned outdoor sound journey at 8pm will be rescheduled to this fall so that we can partner with other artists and creatives including Maria Mia Salazar and Pender to create a beautiful environment and successful fundraiser for !

Our next public event will be at the High Bridge Grounds for Art (https://www.hbgfa.com/) on Saturday September 12! We would love to see you there 💜

Dear friends, we have decided to postpone tomorrow night's event (Friday) due to the ongoing wildfires spreading smoke and particulates throughout the region. We expect to reschedule in ~2 weeks, so please stay tuned for an announcement confirming the date! We hope to incorporate art and poetry into the event as well 😃 for a beautiful evening of creative expression and community.
