The Speech Lab continues to grow and we are ✨️thrilled✨️ to announce that we will begin offering pediatric Occupational Therapy services in November and are now accepting referrals!
Welcome, Sarah Schafer MOT, OTR/L, to The Speech Lab! Sarah is no stranger to the Mexico community and brings years of experience and compassion to our clinic. Sarah will be offering after school appointments to her clients, and spots are limited. If you have a child in need of occupational therapy, have your doctor fax a referral to us at 573-519-5307.
👉️ Sarah is a dedicated pediatric occupational therapist who works in the schools, provides services as a First Steps provider, and practices as an outpatient therapist specializing in pediatrics. She is passionate about helping children build confidence, independence, and the skills they need to thrive in everyday life.
🤸♂️ Sarah takes a child-centered, play-based approach to therapy, incorporating fine motor development, sensory integration, and self-care skills into meaningful activities. She believes therapy should be engaging and fun, often turning therapeutic activities into play so children can learn and grow while doing what they love.
👨👩👧👧 Outside of her professional life, Sarah is married to Daniel and is a proud mom to two daughters, Olivia and Alexis. When she isn’t working, she enjoys spending time with her family, baking, relaxing at the lake, and getting lost in a good book.
🍪 Sarah is also the owner and operator of Sarah’s Sunshine Stand, a small baking business she primarily runs during the summer. Through her stand, Sarah gets to combine her love of baking with her love of bringing a little extra sunshine to her community.
