💔 A heartbreaking tragedy has shaken a family, a school, and an entire community.
14-year-old Davoris Carter, a special-needs student full of light, joy, and innocence, went missing during a school trip to Wildwood, New Jersey just two days before what should have been a milestone graduation celebration he was meant to enjoy. 😔
On June 1, while in the ocean, Davoris was caught in dangerous waters alongside other swimmers. While some were rescued, he sadly did not make it back. Despite an urgent and extensive search effort involving the U.S. Coast Guard, local emergency teams, helicopters, boats, drones, and rescue swimmers, he remains missing.
His family is now left with unbearable pain and growing questions, raising concerns about the level of supervision provided during the trip. They say students required one-on-one support and are troubled by reports that no adults entered the water and no lifeguards were present at the time.
Davoris is remembered as a sweet, happy, and kind-hearted young boy who touched everyone around him with his presence. 💔
As the search continues, so does the grief and the call for answers, accountability, and justice.
We hold Davoris, his family, classmates, and community close in our hearts during this devastating time. 🙏🏽
