How have you really been feeling lately?

Sometimes we get so caught up in work, school, relationships, responsibilities, and taking care of everyone else that we forget to pause and check in with ourselves.

Take a moment today to ask yourself:
✨ What am I feeling right now?
✨ What has been weighing on me?
✨ What do I need more of?
✨ What do I need to let go of?
✨ Have I been taking care of myself, or just getting through the day?

You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes simply acknowledging how you feel is the first step. 🤍

Your mental health deserves to be a priority, not an afterthought. 🌱

Improving your mental well-being doesn’t have to mean making huge changes overnight. Sometimes, it’s the small things we consistently do that make the biggest difference.

Take time to have fun. Give yourself grace. Create healthier habits. Make space to slow down and reconnect with yourself. And most importantly, remember that taking care of your mental health is something you deserve to do every day—not only when you’re struggling. 🤍

Which one of these are you going to try this week? 👇🏽

Nothing makes a therapist happier than hearing, “I’ve actually been feeling really good lately.” 🥹❤️

Consistency can make such a difference when it comes to mental health treatment. Celebrating the little wins, the increased productivity, and those moments when clients start feeling more like themselves again. ✨

And yes… we LOVE a medication success story! 😂🩵

Sometimes anger is more than anger. 🩵

Constant irritability, frustration, or feeling like you’re always on edge can sometimes be your mind and body’s way of saying, “I’m overwhelmed.”

Stress can show up as:
• Being easily irritated
• Snapping at people you love
• Feeling impatient or restless
• Having a short temper
• Feeling emotionally drained
• Getting upset over things that normally wouldn’t bother you

And sometimes, anger is the emotion we notice when there are other feelings underneath it—like stress, anxiety, sadness, exhaustion, or feeling overwhelmed.

This doesn’t mean every angry moment is caused by stress. But if you’ve noticed a constant change in your mood or patience, it may be worth checking in with yourself and asking:

“What’s really going on beneath my anger?”

You don’t have to ignore what your mind and body are trying to tell you. 🫶🏽

Your emotions deserve to be understood—not judged.

Sometimes healing means unlearning what we were taught. 🩵

For some of us, growing up meant hearing that depression, anxiety, or emotional struggles were simply excuses. We were taught to “tough it out,” keep things to ourselves, or believe that if someone else had it worse, we had no right to struggle.

But mental health is real.

And acknowledging that you’re struggling doesn’t make you weak, dramatic, ungrateful, or attention-seeking. It makes you human.

No matter your age.
No matter your background.
No matter what you were taught growing up.

You deserve to take your mental health seriously.

If something doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to ignore it just because you were taught to. Talking to a mental health professional can be a powerful first step toward understanding what you’re experiencing and getting the support you deserve.

There is no judgment here. 🫶🏽
Unlearn. Speak up. Seek support. Your mental health matters.

As a Black Haitian Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I know how taboo talking about mental health can be to some people

My goal is simple: to create a safe space to help everyone heal and evolve, regardless of what you learned as a child🌱✨

Because mental health care should feel like care. 🫶🏽

🎒📚 Back-to-school season is here, and while we’re preparing backpacks, schedules, and school supplies, let’s not forget to prepare for mental wellness, too. 🩵

A new school year can bring excitement, but it can also bring stress, anxiety, pressure, and big emotions—for both students and parents.

This school year, remember to:
✨ Check in with yourself and your children
✨ Make space for rest and healthy routines
✨ Talk about feelings instead of bottling them up
✨ Set realistic expectations
✨ Ask for support when things feel overwhelming

Mental health deserves to be a priority all year long—not just when things become too much. 🩵

Here’s to a school year filled with growth, learning, and taking care of ourselves along the way.

Sometimes clients come into therapy worried they’re “bothering” me, talking too much, or taking up too much space… 🥹

But the truth is: you’re not bothering me. This is what I’m here for. 🤍

One of the most rewarding parts of therapy is watching a client go from shy, hesitant, and unsure of what to say… to feeling comfortable enough to open up, ask questions, express their emotions, challenge their thoughts, and truly use therapy as a safe space for themselves. 🩵

You don’t have to apologize for needing support. You don’t have to minimize what you’re feeling. And you definitely don’t have to worry about being “too much.”

Take up the space. That’s what therapy is for. ✨

Here are 5 tips for those moments when you’re feeling overwhelmed and stressed 🩵

1. Name your feelings
2. Take a break without feeling guilty
3. Avoid overloading your mind
4. Don’t keep it all in
5. Reconnect with yourself

Remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out all at once. Give yourself permission to slow down, take things one step at a time, and ask for support when you need it. 🩵
