Music isn’t just an art form. In the right hands, it’s a lifeline. Meet Tiffany “Tif Boom” Lusan, Regional Director at Guitars Over Guns, joining the “Beyond the Clinic: Sport, Music, and Economic Empowerment as a Black Youth Health Strategy” panel at Black Health Summit 2026.
A South Florida-raised poet, youth advocate, and community leader of Jamaican descent, Tiffany's work lives at the crossroads of art, healing, and impact. Known for her contagious energy and gift for turning lived experience into language, she has been featured on CBS News and on iHeartMedia programming, and publicly recognized by Miami mayors and commissioners for her community outreach and spoken-word contributions.
At Guitars Over Guns, Tif designs and leads music education and mentorship experiences for middle and high school students, built around consistency, belonging, and the kind of sustained relationship that keeps young people engaged long enough for real change to take root. Her debut book, Safe Word, blends positive poetry and mindfulness activities to support focus, self-reflection, and a more productive mindset.
Her presence on this panel reflects a core conviction of the Summit: that the pathways to better health for Black youth run not only through clinics and classrooms, but through art, voice, and the adults who show up for them with intention.
