Insurance denies a claim. You now have to reread your own notes, figure out what the payer is even disputing, and write an appeal, on top of an already full caseload. 😱

Upheal Assistant does that part for you.

It reads the payer's denial code, works out exactly what's being disputed, and drafts the appeal straight from the documentation you already wrote: your diagnosis, treatment plan, and progress notes.

You still review it, make any edits, and send. What used to take an entire evening now takes a couple of minutes. 🧘

If claim denials are costing you hours you don't have, this is worth a look.

Still spending too much time cleaning up notes?

Upheal Assistant just got even better at handling the parts of documentation that eat into your day:

➡️ Edit a note or treatment plan just by chatting

No more digging through a document to fix it by hand. Tell Upheal Assistant what to change, review exactly what's different, and only save once it looks right. You stay in control of every edit.

➡️ See your data as tables and charts

Ask a question about your caseload or session trends and get a chart or sortable table back. Download it, or pull it up full-screen when you need a closer look.

➡️ Get answers straight from your files

Attach a photo, PDF, or file (CSV, TXT, MD, JSON) and ask it questions directly. Pull details out of an old treatment plan or referral letter without retyping any of it.

When you spend less time managing paperwork, there's more time for everything else.

It was another packed, standing-room-only session today at APA with Upheal’s Sr. Clinical AI Product Manager, Leila Anderson, LMFT-S.

We discussed how AI is already in the therapy room, and how clinicians can navigate clients using AI between sessions.

There were lots of thoughtful questions and different perspectives, and we loved hearing what psychologists had to share.

We’ve still got a few more hours at APA, so if you’d like to carry on the conversation, head on over to the Upheal booth, #424 in the Tech Hub.

We’d love to chat!

It’s the last day of APA!

So, what does it mean to meet your AI team?

It means having a Clinical Assistant, Office Manager, Biller, Growth Advisor, and Records Manager all working alongside you.

Way less admin and more time for your clients.

One platform. One AI team. One EHR that does it all.

If you’re at APA today, head on over to meet your AI team at the Upheal booth! 424 in the tech hub 👋🏻💜

We’re having a blast at APA!

We’ve had so many amazing chats with psychologists, and even had people spot our Upheal shirts in the elevator and tell us how much they love using the platform.

Here are some of the things the psychologists that dropped by the booth have told us:

“I can’t believe I can send all my intake forms and prep for my next session just by asking the Assistant.”

“It used to take me hours or even days to create my practice forms but with you guys I just dropped in a PDF and it generated the form in seconds.”

“I can’t believe it’s only one dollar per appointment, that’s totally worth it.”

We also learned that everyone LOVES a Tide pen! If you haven’t got one yet, drop by the Upheal booth (424 in the tech hub) and grab yours before we run out.

Are you at APA today? Head on over to booth 424 in the tech hub and meet the Upheal team!

We’ll tell you all about our AI-native EHR, our recent launch of insurance billing, and why psychologists have been telling us that switching to Upheal was the best choice they made 🔥

See you there!

Who’s heading to Washington, DC for APA 2026?

The Upheal team will be at booth #424 in the Tech Hub from August 6-8, and we'd love to meet you there. Whether you're a solo practitioner or running a group practice, come say hi and see what we've been building, including some exciting new features we can’t wait to share.

While you're there, catch our Senior Clinical Product Manager and LMFT-S, Leila Anderson, facilitating "AI Is Already in the Therapy Room. Are We Pretending It Isn't?" on Thursday, August 6 and Saturday, August 8, both 1:00-1:45 pm.

See you in DC!

Most billing tools weren't built by people who understood clinical work, and it shows. They live in a separate login, with no idea what happened in the session, so you end up re-typing details a clearinghouse should already have. When a claim gets denied, you get a cryptic code and no explanation, because the tool never had the clinical context to begin with.

We built insurance billing differently: inside Upheal, as part of the same system that already holds your notes, your sessions, and your clients. That means claims fill themselves in from the note you already signed, rejections show up in plain language next to the session they belong to, and when a claim is denied, the same AI Assistant that knows your documentation drafts the appeal for you. No billing-only tool can do that last part, because none of them have the context.

Billing in Upheal understands the clinical work, because it's built on the system that documents it.

No monthly billing fee on top of the $1/session price, just $0.30 per claim and $0.15 per eligibility check, both waived until October 1 while you get set up.

If you use PHQ-9 or GAD-7 with clients, the time-consuming part usually isn't giving the assessment, it's what happens after. You get a score, maybe jot it into your notes, and then a few sessions later find yourself flipping back through old submissions trying to remember what was actually going on with that client when the number moved.

We just built something at Upheal that addresses that exact problem. Every PHQ-9 or GAD-7 submission now comes with a score-over-time chart showing severity zones, along with an AI-generated read that ties the number back to what actually came up in the client's most recent session. A jump or a drop isn't just a data point on a graph, it's connected to what your client was actually working through.

It also stays disciplined about scope: a GAD-7 read only talks about anxiety and a PHQ-9 read only talks about depression, even when something like sleep or low energy shows up in both.

If you're already using standardized measures and want a faster way to actually use that data instead of just collecting it, check it out. ⬇️

We're proud to be recognized among Headline's most promising AI companies, alongside teams like Attio, Payflows, and Sereact.

The real credit goes to the thousands of clinicians using Upheal every day, spending less time on notes and more time with clients. That's what we set out to build from day one: AI that takes the work off a therapist's plate, so they can spend their time and energy where it matters most, with the people in front of them.

Thanks to the Headline team for the recognition. 🙌
