💳 Clients can now pay invoices in their portal: view balances, pay by card, and save a card on file. Web, iOS, and Android.

📎 Send files in client messages: share intake forms, worksheets, or handouts directly in the conversation. No more emailing separately.

🎨 Add your logo and branding to Upheal: your practice name, logo, and brand color appear throughout the client experience.

📅 More flexible scheduling: add a custom "Other" event type for supervision or consultations, set custom event titles, choose your week start day, and toggle week numbers.

There's a lot of conversation right now about how EHR platforms handle session data. At Upheal, your sessions belong to you and your clients.

Here's how we keep it that way:

🟣 Transcripts are stored on your behalf: You control retention. Auto-delete after 7 days, delete individual sessions, or keep them as long as you need.

🟣 No AI training on session data: We don't use transcripts, notes, or clinical content to train models.

🟣 Client consent comes first: Any use of session data for product improvement requires your client's explicit opt-in. It's not a default or buried in settings.

🟣 Support access is opt-in: If you need help with a note or transcript issue, you grant us access for that specific case. There's no standing window into your sessions.

We built Upheal this way because we believe the tools clinicians use should reflect the same standard of consent they practice in the room.

Upheal payments just got a lot better. Before we ship insurance billing, we needed the foundation to actually work the way clinicians need it to.

Your invoice in Upheal is now a real session ledger. Log any external payment (cash, check, Venmo, Zelle) even without Stripe. Take partial payments. Split one payment across multiple invoices. See exactly where each client stands. Apply credits to open invoices. Send clean receipts for payments and refunds. Pull a full statement for any client, any time.

Upheal Assistant can check a client's balance or take you straight to their billing screen. You confirm anything that touches money.

Practice owners: you can manage billing across your whole team from one place. Create invoices, charge clients, log payments, and generate superbills and statements for any provider in your practice.

We just shipped a new feature that clinicians have been asking for, and it works differently from what you'll find in any other EHR.

Client Messaging is now live in Upheal. Watch the video to see it in action.

Here's what makes it different: your Upheal Assistant can draft any message, whether you're starting a new conversation or responding to a client, based on your actual session notes, treatment plan goals, and assessments. It uses real clinical context, so you can simply review and send. It never sends without your approval.

You can also message your whole caseload at once with Announcements. Great for holiday hours, rate changes, or anything you'd otherwise send one by one. Clients get notified through the native Upheal app on iOS (Android coming very soon), so messages actually get read.

A throwback to five years ago, when Upheal was born to help change how therapists write their notes.

At the time, most people called it a gimmick. The large EHR platforms dismissed it as a novelty.

Then quietly, one by one, those same platforms started shipping their own versions of it. Some are decent. Most are not. Nearly all of them are still layered onto systems built for a world before AI existed.

Meanwhile, we kept building. We evolved from helping therapists write notes better to helping them run their entire practices.
