The most underrated move you can make is knowing who you are first. Everything you do is built on top of who you are.
While speaking in Chicago earlier this month, I shared a story about my great-grandmother in rural Mississippi (Mama - my Rosemary + Mint honey). While my great-grandfather would provide for the family by selling the produce from the farm, eggs, milk, etc. in town, she took it upon herself to make money, too.
And so girls from the surrounding counties will walk to the house, and she'd teach them how to sew dress patterns. They'd walk back home and work on them, then walk back to have her look over it.
Just something she knew how to do and people who needed to learn from it.
While society has taught us to look at wealth as something outside of ourselves, true wealth is in who you are, the energy you projuct and protect... and how you show up like it.
