This location in South Miami-Dade County was the first studio Lou Sciberras opened after relocating to the area in 1986. Tattoos By Lou was at one time the only professional tattoo studio in all of Miami-Dade County. Tattoos By Lou has held several addresses in South Miami-Dade County over the past three decades. Whether we moved our studio location to expand or due to natural disaster, like in the case of Hurricane Andrew, the high quality of our service has always remained the same. Over the past three decades, Tattoos by Lou's South Miami-Dade County location has welcomed great artists including, founding owner Lou Sciberras, owner Ken Cameron, original resident artists Troy Lane and Mike Harpool, along with Dave Gibson, Eddie Deutsche, Alex Herman, Dave Wulff, Cindy Stroemple, Greg Christian, Phil Colvin, Jeff Lebowitz, Scott Bakoss, Brady Buckman, Alice Kuchar, Scott Sterling, and many more. In 1989 Lou Sciberras opened his second tattoo studio in North Miami Beach. Sitting on West Dixie Highway, across from the world famous "Criteria" recording studio, Lou welcomed rock stars from around the globe. AC/DC, Eric Clapton, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Aerosmith, and The Allman Brothers were just a few to lay down tracks across the street from Lou's new studio. Rock stars walked through Lou's doors to get tattooed, like Michael Stripe (REM), Greg Allman, and Marilyn Manson. The area around the West Dixie Highway lprogressively went from bad to worse and in 1994 Lou moved to a new location on 167th Street. One final move In 1998 had the studio relocate to our current location at 456 NE 167th Street. Many talented artists have worked out of Tattoos by Lou North Miami Beach like: founder Lou Sciberras, owner Ken Cameron, Dave Gibson, Jim Snap, Mikey Harpool, Gentle Little Jay, Brady Buckman, Dicky Magoo, Ami James, Shae Cannon, Greg Christian, Lou "Spot", Daniel Piedra, and Roger Valdes.In 1990 Lou Sciberras and his daughter Michelle, opened the first tattoo studio on Miami Beach, known as "The One and The Only". Lou enjoyed living on Miami Beach and being a part of its resurgence. Lou received the Key to the City of Miami Beach in 1993. It wasn't until 1994 that another tattoo studio opened on the beach. Tattoos by Lou South Beach has been home to many award winning tattoo artist including, founder Lou Sciberras, owner Ken Cameron, Morgan Brown, Luis Segatto, Ami James, Chris Garver, Chris Nunez, Frank Ball, Joe Vegas, Lou "Spot", Arlen Miller, Phil Colvin, Tim Buonagurio, Jeff Jeffies, Dave Poole, Gentle Little Jay, Hanky Panky, Jason Eisenberg, Loir Cifer, Dirk Vanderlinder, Albert Sgambiti, Mike Nickleson, Annette LaRue, Jeff Whitehead, Dave Gibson. While at Tattoos by Lou South Beach these tattoo heavyweights have tattooed many "A List" clients throughout the years, including Madonna, Britney Spears, Mickey Rourke, Little Wayne, Ricky Martin, and many more. Founder Lou Sciberras wasn't just a great artist and businessman, he was also a family man. His daughter Michelle Sciberras-Cameron grew up watching him work. Michelle tried her hand at tattooing and in her words, "Some people are just not artists. Michelle prefers working with the clients directly, seeing them happy with what she assisted them with in the end. It was at a National Convention in New Jersey where Michelle Sciberras and Ken Cameron met. Michelle was there with her father and some of the studio artists; Ken had come from California selling a new set of his flash. It's safe to say it was love at first sight, Michelle and Ken have spoken every day since then, having married and raised two children. Since Lou's passing on August 28, 1996, Michelle and Ken have continued to operate Tattoos by Lou with the same ambition and passion for the tattoo industry as Lou did. Together they continue to offer a home for top quality artists in Miami just as Lou did.
