Mariposas Holistic began in 2014 as a path to help people heal their trauma and stress. The business was founded by Paty โ€œMariposaโ€ Hernandez-Montoya who is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Trauma Therapist, and Usui Reiki Master/Teacher. She birthed this business out of her own grief and trauma following the deaths of her sister, mother, and boyfriend who all passed within 5 years. Since 2021 s

he has shifted teaching Reiki and stress reduction coaching to include a trauma-informed perspective. She uses her gifts to assist people with a history of trauma through complementary modalities and with a self-care focus to reduce stress naturally. Reiki is a Japanese word that means universal life energy and is a form of energy healing that works to restore balance and promote well-being through a spiritual lens. Reiki helps to reduce stress, promote relaxation, reduce pain, and support healing on all levels โ€“ physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual. Reiki and holistic healing promote a sense of well-being, balance, and harmony in the body, mind, and spirit. It can help to reduce stress, bring clarity and focus, and support the bodyโ€™s natural ability to heal itself.

Day 9 of 75 medium challenge

Honestly, one of the practices within this challenge that I gave myself was to show up on social media every day. However, for the past few days, I made a conscious choice not to.

Instead I stayed within my crysalis as I struggled with my negative self-talk and self-doubt. Then, just like a butterfly, I slowly broke through and have now reappeared to share my gifts with you.

I also chose to focus on spending quality time with friends who I visited over the weekend.

This challenge continues to teach me where Iโ€™m willing to push through my comfort zone and where I choose to pause and stay within it.

Iโ€™m grateful for this experience and this challenge.

Iโ€™m showing up every day differently and I already see small shifts.
