Yavagal Interventional stroke Lab(YISL) is the mutual effort of Dr Yavagal and team . Dr Yavagal is Associate Professor of Clinical Neurology and Neurosurgery, Director Interventional Neurology in University of Miami and Jackson Memorial Hospital, Miami, Florida. YISL is a step forward in the direction of advent of novel and more promising intervention therapies for Stroke, The main focus is on st

em cells as a treatment option for ischemic stroke, by far the cornerstone of the treatment of stroke is tPA to be given within a window period(3-4 hour since the onset of stroke) which is not sufficient enough to bring the patient in hospital timely despite good health network, another issue is incomplete recovery following the therapy . Considering these problems, YISL is putting forth effort to extend the window period as well as full recovery using stem cells. Different trials have been going on altogether including clinical as wall as preclinical(Rodent model and canine model). so far the studies have shown promising results in the direction to be effective therapy for ischemic stroke.
