Sometimes, quality hospice care comes down to knowing how to use the right tools. 🩺

One of those tools is the Kangaroo™ Feeding Pump.

Our team recently took part in hands-on training to strengthen their knowledge and skills in using this specialized equipment for patients who require enteral nutrition.

Because in hospice care, being prepared means being able to respond to each patient’s unique needs while keeping comfort, dignity, and quality of life at the center.

The equipment may be technical. The purpose is simple: better care. 💙

More than a pet. A source of comfort, connection, and joy. 🐾💙

Our pets can be an important part of our everyday lives, helping us stay active, feel connected, and find moments of joy in simple routines.

And in hospice care, that bond can become even more meaningful. When safe and appropriate, spending time with a beloved pet can bring comfort, familiarity, companionship, and meaningful moments to patients and their families.

Because sometimes, comfort has four paws. 🐶

This National Dog Day, we’re celebrating the pets who walk beside us through life and recognizing the special place they can hold during the hospice journey.

Happy National Dog Day from Medcare Hospice! 💙🐾

Grief doesn't follow a timeline. It doesn't look the same for everyone. And there is no "right way" to navigate loss.

Some days may feel manageable. Others may feel unexpectedly hard. Both can be part of the journey.

What matters most is remembering that you don't have to go through it alone.

At MedCare Hospice, we believe grief deserves compassion, support, and space to unfold in its own way.

💛 Your feelings are valid. 💛 Your timeline is your own. 💛 Support is available when you need it.

Interested in making a difference with your time?
You don't always need the right words or a special skill to make a difference.

Sometimes, simply being present can bring comfort to someone who may be going through a difficult time.

Hospice volunteers can offer companionship, a listening ear, and meaningful moments of connection to patients and families. These simple acts of kindness can bring warmth, dignity, and comfort to someone's day.

At Medcare Hospice, we believe that every moment of compassion matters. 💙

Caregiving can be an act of love but it can also become a responsibility no one was prepared to carry alone.

Today, more than 51 million Americans care for an adult age 50+. They’re spending more time providing care, experiencing emotional and physical strain, and taking on responsibilities that can extend far beyond everyday caregiving.

And yet, many caregivers still aren’t receiving the support they need.

At Medcare Hospice, we believe care should extend beyond the patient. Our interdisciplinary medical team and dedicated volunteers can provide clinical care, guidance, companionship, emotional support, and meaningful moments for patients and their families.

If you’re caring for a loved one, remember: asking for support is part of caring, too.

✨ Why did I choose to become a nurse?

Because I’ve always wanted to help people feel cared for when they need it most.

As an Admissions Nurse in hospice, my role begins with a conversation, a warm smile, and the opportunity to bring comfort to patients and families as they start a new chapter.

What makes me happiest is knowing that after meeting with us, they no longer feel alone. Being able to offer support, answer their questions, and help them find peace is the greatest gift this profession has given me. 💙

Every story reminds me that caring isn’t always about curing—it’s often about being present, listening, and walking alongside others with compassion.

Great hospice care starts with great teamwork. 💙

Every patient has a unique story, which is why our interdisciplinary team comes together regularly to ensure every aspect of their care is thoughtfully coordinated.

Our nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, hospice aides, volunteers, and care professionals collaborate, share insights, and create personalized care plans that support not only our patients, but also the families walking alongside them.

Because hospice is about more than medical care, it’s about compassion, communication, and making every moment count.

Together, we’re honored to make a difference, one patient at a time. ✨

There's no better way to end the week than with a heartfelt reminder of why we do what we do. 💙

This week, two of our incredible team members were recognized by the people who matter most, our patients. A thoughtful certificate and a heartfelt letter of gratitude reminded us that compassion, kindness, and presence leave a lasting impact.

Every visit, every conversation, every moment of care has the power to make someone feel seen, valued, and loved. These gestures are more than words; they are a reflection of the meaningful connections our team builds every day.

To our amazing staff, thank you for caring with your whole heart. And to our patients and families, thank you for trusting us to walk alongside you on your journey. 💙

❤️🤍💙 What a wonderful Fourth of July celebration!

Taking time to celebrate together reminds us that the heart of Medcare Hospice is the people who make our mission possible. Moments like these strengthen our connections, create lasting memories, and reflect the sense of community that inspires us every day.

Thank you to our incredible team for making this celebration so special. We hope everyone had a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day with their loved ones.

Hospice care doesn’t end with the patient’s journey. It also means supporting the families who are learning to live with loss.

Bereavement support is designed to help loved ones navigate grief through compassion, guidance, and meaningful connections. Sometimes, healing begins with knowing that someone is thinking of you.

Recently, our incredible volunteers came together to create handwritten cards filled with messages of hope, comfort, and encouragement. These heartfelt notes will be shared with families in our bereavement program as a reminder that they are not alone.

We are grateful to every volunteer who continues to share kindness beyond the bedside. 💙
