Women need to supplement with creatine more than men. Creatine stores in your muscles and women have less muscle mass than men which means that the demand to supplement of creatine is higher in women.

Eating 7 hours before a game isn’t actually a pre-game meal. Here’s how we break down pregame fueling
3-4 hours before competition MEAL
1-2 hours prior SNACK
30-45 minutes before game time CARBS

My first issue that I didn’t even get to speak about is why he was given false information rather than speaking to a PROFESSIONAL. Licensed dietitians are the people to speak with when you have a supplement or nutrition problem not a coach and not a doctor.
So let’s get into what happened. He claims that taking creatine was causing full body cramping. I believe that he was under eating, which was causing glycogen depletion and that is why he has full body cramping. The reason he wasn’t cramping in his draft prep program is because he was being fed day and night. It was not the creatine.

Should a 14yr old athlete take creatine? I don’t think it’s the 1st area we can improve on at that age. Once the diet in in order with nutrient timing and food macro and micronutrient balance we can start to think about supplements. Because supplements are supplementary to a good diet.
