PCOS is now PMOS (Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome) and I’m so exited for this shift‼️

THIS IS A HUGE AND IMPORTANT SHIFT

The name “Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome” has created confusion for years.
Many women assume they must have ovarian cysts to have PCOS. Even some providers heavily rely on ultrasound findings when evaluating patients.

But PCOS is so much more than cystic ovaries.

In fact, many women with PCOS do not actually have polycystic ovaries on ultrasound, which can contribute to delayed diagnosis, missed diagnosis, and women struggling for years without answers.
This reframing helps us better understand what is truly happening:
�PCOS is often a metabolic and endocrine condition, not simply an ovarian condition.
We now recognize the deeper connections with:
�• insulin resistance�• metabolic dysfunction�• inflammation�• hormone imbalance�• weight struggles�• acne and hair changes�• fertility concerns�• fatigue and mood symptoms

And this shift in perspective matters because when we understand the root problem better, we can support and treat women better.
