Not all “normal” labs tell the whole story. 🤎

Fasting insulin is one of my favorite labs because it can identify early insulin resistance before blood sugar or A1c become abnormal.

By the time glucose starts rising, insulin may have been elevated for years.

Looking at the full picture helps us understand:

I hear these same three things from women almost every single day…

Yesterday was something special. 🤎

Somehow we’ve normalized women being told that exhaustion, low libido, brain fog, weight gain, anxiety, painful intimacy, and hot flashes are “just part of getting older.”

I don’t think they should be.

Women deserve to be heard.
Women deserve providers who ask questions.
Women deserve treatment plans tailored to their bodies and their goals.

That doesn’t always mean hormones.
It doesn’t always mean medication.
But it should always mean being listened to and being given options.

One of my favorite moments as a provider is comparing a woman’s symptom questionnaire from her first visit to her follow-up. 🤎

Today I had a patient come back after just one month of treatment, and her menopause symptom score dropped from 22 to 12.

That means she went from the severe symptom range into the moderate symptom range in just one month.

While every woman’s journey is different and results vary, this is exactly why I love what I do. Hormone optimization isn’t about chasing perfect lab numbers. It’s about helping women sleep better, think more clearly, have more energy, and finally start feeling like themselves again.
