🇺🇸 OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE 🇺🇸

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed:

🔹 Monday, September 7th — In observance of Labor Day
🔹 Tuesday, September 8th through Friday, September 11th — Our staff will be attending our annual Fall Accreditation Training.

We will reopen for normal business hours on Monday, September 14th.

VETERAN TRANSPORTATION WILL CONTINUE AS SCHEDULED!

Our drivers will still be transporting veterans to their scheduled appointments throughout the week.

If you need assistance while our office is closed, please leave us a voicemail with your name, phone number, and a brief message. We will be checking voicemails as we are able during training and will return calls as soon as possible.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while our staff completes this important annual training.

🇺🇸 Holiday Office Closure Notice 🇺🇸
The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed on Friday, July 3, in observance of Independence Day.

Our office will reopen during normal business hours on Monday, July 6.

We wish everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July weekend as we celebrate the freedoms made possible by the service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans and military members.

We wanted to share a resource that we came across and it worked for one of our local veterans!

The veteran applied through the Disabled Veterans National Foundation (DVNF) Veteran Food Assistance Program and, after being approved, was able to order approximately $300 worth of groceries online, which were delivered directly to their home through Kroger.

After speaking with the program director, we learned a few helpful tips:

Funding is limited each month and is often exhausted by around the 10th of the month.

They recommend applying as close to the 1st of the month as possible.

Veterans may receive assistance once every 9 months, if eligible.

If you or a veteran you know could use a little extra help with groceries, this may be a great resource to explore.

🇺🇸 Join Us for a Veteran Appreciation Lunch! 🇺🇸
The Meigs County Veterans Service Office invites all local veterans to join us for an afternoon of food, fellowship, and appreciation as we honor those who served our country.

This event is being generously provided solely by volunteers from the Mason, WV Walmart, and we sincerely appreciate their support for our veteran community. 🇺🇸

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed Friday, May 29 through Friday, June 5 while staff attends National Service Officer training in Reno, Nevada. This training helps us continue providing the best possible assistance and support to our local veterans and their families.

During this time, we will still be checking emails and voicemails periodically as we are able. Please understand responses may be delayed.

🚐 Veteran transportation services will continue operating as scheduled.

We will return to normal office hours on Monday, June 8.

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office is currently looking for a couple of dependable backup drivers to assist with transporting veterans to VA medical appointments. 🇺🇸

Candidates must:
• Have a clean driving record
• Be dependable and professional
• Be willing to assist veterans in our community as needed
• Be a Meigs County resident
• Veteran preferred

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed Tuesday through Friday this week due to mandatory spring training.

We will be checking voicemails periodically throughout the week and will return calls as soon as possible.

The office will reopen on Monday, May 4th.

The Meigs County Veterans Service Office will be closed Thursday, March 5th and Friday, March 6th due to mandatory annual state training.

This training ensures we stay current on state and federal veterans benefits so we can continue providing the best possible service to our veterans and their families.

We will reopen Monday, March 9th with normal business hours.
