Someone at Core recently said, “we can all learn a little something from dogs,” and honestly… I agree.
Dogs have it figured out. Their priorities are in the right place.
And since Penny has spent the last year and a half at Core quietly observing us, and occasionally judging us with that stoic stare, I figured we could all learn a few health and wellness lessons from a dog that’s got life figured out.
🐾 Walking isn’t exercise?
Walking improves cardiovascular health, supports recovery, reduces stress, and helps keep you moving consistently. Don’t underestimate the basics. Walks are good for you too.
🐾 One bad meal or one missed workout ruined your progress?
Progress isn’t built or destroyed in a day. It’s built through what you consistently do over time. Enjoy the occasional snack.
🐾 You don’t have time for sleep?
Sleep is one of the most important parts of recovery, energy, performance, and overall health. Penny strongly recommends more naps.
🐾 All carbs are bad?
Carbs are fuel. Your body and brain both rely on them, especially if you train hard and want energy to exercise, recover, and feel your best.
🐾 You have to “earn” food by exercising more?
Exercise is not punishment for eating. Movement should improve your life, not be a transaction.
🐾 You have to be exhausted, sweaty, and sore to have a good workout?
The goal of training isn’t to destroy yourself. It’s to get stronger, move better, and keep showing up consistently.
Let’s follow Penny’s lead by going for more walks, getting more sleep, using food to fuel our bodies, enjoying the occasional snack, and not stressing over every meal or missed workout.
