You've probably heard of dry needling, but here's what it actually does — and why we use it at Sheely Chiropractic.
Dry needling uses thin filament needles inserted into specific trigger points — tight, irritable spots in the muscle that cause pain and limit movement. The needle releases the tension, calms the nervous system response in that area, and helps restore normal muscle function.
It's different from acupuncture in both technique and purpose. We use it as part of a broader care plan, not as a standalone treatment.
What it helps with:
- Chronic neck and shoulder tension
- Low back and hip tightness
- Muscle pain that won't fully resolve with other treatment
- Post-injury recovery where muscles have "locked up"
Dr. Sheely has extensive experience with dry needling and uses it with patients of all ages when it's the right fit for their situation.
