We are incredibly proud to celebrate MSD member Stephen Kushner, D.O., and his daughter, Nicole Kushner, D.O., as they team up at ChristianaCare Primary Care at Hockessin!

This marks three generations of the Kushner family dedicating their lives to caring for Delaware patients.
Dr. Stephen Kushner is a long-time, deeply active leader within MSD, constantly advocating for our community through his work with the OBVIOUS Campaign for Kids, the School Health Subcommittee, and professional education.
Now, Dr. Nicole Kushner joins him after completing her family medicine residency!

Both father and daughter embody the very heart of medicine and the patient-physician relationship. Their dedication to multi-generational family care and patient autonomy is an inspiration to us all.

✨Twenty-five (25) years ago, on June 11, 2001, the Medical Society of Delaware’s Voluntary Initiative Program (VIP II) officially "went live."

Today, we are incredibly proud to celebrate the silver anniversary of this vital safety-net healthcare program for uninsured and under-insured Delaware residents!

💙This major milestone belongs to our incredible community of Delaware doctors, healthcare clinicians, and medical staff.

To every provider volunteering your time: THANK YOU! 🩺🙌

Your dedication, medical expertise, and profound commitment to health equity make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families across our communities every single day.
We are deeply grateful for your healthcare partnership, professionalism, and endless efforts to advance community health.
As part of the state-funded Health Care Connection (HCC), the VIP network ensures our neighbors receive pro-bono or income-based discounted care, ranging from routine health screenings and specialty care to vital diagnostics and pharmacy assistance.
Just look at the incredible community impact the VIP team and our Medication Assistance Program have made so far just during this contract year:

📞 3,237 pharmacy coordination patient assistance calls handled
👤 1,561 patients provided with crucial prescription assistance
🔍 3,176 prescriptions researched and found with deep discounts
🩸 76% of patients with diabetes received a free, bilingual speaking glucose meter

To our volunteers, healthcare partners, and supporters: thank you for 25 years of heart, health, and hope.
