I see this hat everyday in my closet and it makes me laugh at how much she tolerated me when we tried something ✨new✨to wear 💁🏼‍♀️💅

This video pops up on our refrigerator daily and I found Shep watching it over and over yesterday. I almost left the kitchen because it’s still painful to see a video of her right now, but Shep was belly laughing and asked me to stay and watch and I’m so glad I did, even though it stung a little.

We would always laugh when Birdie would raise her right arm like a little cheerleader when she said “YAY!” while cheering for herself, like she does in this video 📣 😂

This video was taken about 1 month before passing. She loved her OT and PT team at Dell and had so much fun with them🥰 They brought this new chair out for her to try (she was still not walking) and she was trying to navigate the little joystick to move around 😂🥰

Missing you and the constant laughs you brought us, sweet Birdie!👼

⭐️ Y’ALL ⭐️ I never want to forget this.

I went to our neighborhood HOA meeting to ask for permission to put a Little Free Library at the clubhouse in honor of Birdie. I had these flyers ready to handout, made my motion and they approved it!! Yay! 😁🎉

Then one of the board members said, “To give you a timeline, why don’t we unveil her library at National Night Out? Most of the neighborhood will already be there, and we can have a little celebration to let everyone know Birdie’s Little Free Library is officially open.”

Immediately my wheels are turning and I’m picturing a full blown ribbon cutting, a marching band, safari animals, helicopters hovering with spotlights 🤪🤩(kinda kidding, kinda not😅)

I got back in my car and Googled the date for Texas National Night Out 2026 so I could put it on my calendar. When the date popped up, I gasped and tears filled my eyes- October 6. HER BIRTHDAY!!🎂

Such a sweet reminder that God cares about even the tiniest details that matter to our hearts.

This week, my incredible niece, Elle Rylee, was crowned Miss Texas Volunteer! Her platform, A Hopeful Heart: A Legacy of Hope was created in memory of Birdie and to bring awareness to congenital heart disease, organ donation, and the incredible heart warriors who inspire us every day.

Birdie, your life continues to reach hearts in ways we never could have imagined.

🌸💗 It’s officially Miss Texas week! 💗🌸

We’re sooo proud of my niece, Elle as she takes the Miss Texas stage carrying Birdie’s story in her heart through her platform, A Hopeful Heart: A Legacy of Hope.

As you cheer on Elle as Miss Coppell this week, we’d love for you to honor Birdie by taking a moment to learn about organ donation, register if you feel led, and share her story.

Before Birdie, I knew very little about pediatric organ donation. It’s not something any parent ever wants to think about, but it’s incredibly important to educate yourself before you’re faced with an emotional, life-altering decision.
The heartbreaking reality is that there are significantly more children needing hearts than there are hearts available. Thanks to advances in medicine, fewer children are dying and becoming donors, while more medically complex children are living long enough to be listed for transplant. That’s wonderful progress—but it has also made the shortage of donor organs even more severe.

I wish I had learned about pediatric organ donation under different circumstances. If Birdie’s story inspires even one family to educate themselves before they’re faced with an impossible decision, then her legacy is already making a difference.

Though a heart never came in time for our girl, I’m determined to find purpose in this pain and heartbreak until I see her again. 🕊️💜

This weekend was our first trip as a family without our little Birdie. We celebrated the boys’ last day of school by going to SeaWorld — somewhere Shep has ALWAYS wanted to go. He’s our little animal lover and currently obsessed with all things ocean life 🐙🐠 (Also hit up the Alamo and took a Riverwalk cruise)

We rode every big roller coaster Shep could shimmy his way onto, watched all the shows, and stayed from open to close at 8pm that night 🤪
It was the first 24 hours I’ve gone without tears constantly streaming down my face.

Grief is so strange. I’ve never experienced anything like this kind. Most days, I swing into this overwhelming “live life to the fullest” mindset — wanting to go on adventures, take the boys everywhere, to taste new foods, do the things I’ve always been too scared to do, and soak up every second possible.

Then something tiny brings me right back to reality like her bath loofah sitting beside the tub or an Elmo episode playing in the background, or her favorite egg bites box from Costco sitting in the freezer and then I want to curl up in a corner and mourn her all over again.

A sweet friend recently gifted me a drawing of Birdie in the arms of Jesus, and right now it feels more comforting than photos. It’s beautiful in a way I can actually look at without completely falling apart.

I miss her in every moment, she is everywhere🤍
