Matilde passed at approximately 1:30 pm March 30. She fought for three years against a cancer that very few people have survived one year. A true testament to her faith, will and strength. She will missed by everyone that the pleasure to meet her. Everyone should take comfort that she said she no longer had the strength and was ready to go with God. She passed without any more suffering.

No good news over the last two weeks. I am not sure whats is going to beat me first, the cancer or the financial struggles trying to continue this battle.
On january 14th had a ct scan of chest and abdomen. On the Jan 15th met with the doctors. They told me that there are more tumors in my liver and some had grown. There is a dying tumor that is pressing up against an artery next to my heart. Some lymph nodes have also grown. This means I no longer quilify for the clinical trial since it is no longer working. They decided to have a MRI done of my brain since I am experiencing lots of oain in my head. They decided to give me one more treatment if the trial until they can figure out what to do. On Jan 21 I had the MRI of my brain. went back to the doctor o. The 22nd and the first thing they said “ we are very sirry but they found two tomors on your brain”. They are small but this now elevated my case to a very soecialized department that deals with cancer in the body and the brain. They explained that the brain blocks most cancer drugs that work on the rest of the body so they have to find a solution that will work for all of the tumors. There are now 5 specialists discussing my case to come up with a game plan to extend my life. I go back on Jan 29 to meet with various specialists to find out what theur recommendation will be. It might be a combination of treatments. They said the treatments will start two to three weeks after the meeting. Of course I will have to sign new consent forms for them to try a new treatment. I am not sure what us going to beat me first, the cancer or the financial part of battling my cancer. Any donations help to make sure that I can keep going to MD Anderson for trial treatments. Hopefully my struggles will help other people in the future. Gid Bless.

I have to move closer to Houston since I have to receive these treatments for the rest of my life. Therefore, i have placed my Midland home for sale. 3 bedrooms and two baths. 4.81 beautiful acres. Several buildinds with concrete floors. Three water wells and a second 200 amo service in place. Please share thus on your facebook and with your friends. Need to sell by end of the year

It is November 22nd of 2025. I finished my 7th treatment of my clinical trial. Had a CT Scan this trip and the tumors in liver are still stable, lymph nodes have shrunk a little and there are no new tumors. I had to have a blood transfusion after mt treatment in order to raise the platelet level. This should help me have some more energy. Have to return on December 11th for the next treatment.

Today is August 14th. Went into MD Anderson this morning to have blood tests done and then met with the clinical trials team. Thank God my white blood cells and platelets were in normal ranges. Will check again in one week. Looks like I should be on schedule to get another treatment on August 28th.

Sorry for not updating earlier. I was previously on a trial treatment of chemotherapy and a targeted therapy drug. It was working but it made me very sick to the point that my body could not handle. I was taken off all treatments for 5 weeks. I was switched over to the MD Anderson clinical center for targeted therapy. I had my first trial therapy on July 17th. It was a 17 hour process. It made me very weak and tires for 4 days. The next week I got admitted into the MD Anderson hospital for 5 days because my white blood cells and platelets were dangerously low. Lots of injections into the stomach to stimulate the bone marrow to produce white blood cells. Also had lots of platelet transfusion. On the second day I got hit with excruciating pain in back, chest and abdomen. Took 6 1/2 hours of heavy pain meds to knock me out. The next morning it was gone. They took x rays and an extensive MRI. They did not find any abnormalities besides my existing cancer. I was released in the 5th day so I could try to rest up. Three days later they checked the blood levels and thank God it was continuing to improve. Three days later (Aug 7th) they ran blood work and then met with the doctors and we decided to proceed with the second treatment. The scientist came up with a lower dosage that they hope will still be effective and not put me in the hospital again. This Sunday I have blood work and they will give me an injection to stimulate the growth of white blood cells. Then they will check the blood levels again Thursday. This will be the day to find out how bad the levels have dropped. These trials are very tough. Every few days they are running tests to make sure I am alright. I will get this treatment every three weeks. On August 27th they will do a ct scan to get an update. They will run a ct scan every 6 weeks. I am having to stay close to the MD Anderson hospital in Houston until 4 days after the 4th treatment. Just the expenses to stay here for 10 weeks are astronomical, not even to mention that insurance jo longer helps much due to the fact that it is atrial treatment. So any financial support would be greatly appreciated. Not going to be able to continue this without financial help. As always I place my fate in God’s hands. Thank you and God bless everyone.

Update
Met with MD Anderson on 5/625 No new tumors or growth. Some tumors have decreased. So it is still controlled. Took her off the chemo infusions and will continue taking the experimental drug. The two treatments combined made her very sick. Has to go back on blood thinners. Small clot by her port. Lymph node in Trachea area has increased in size so they will continue to monitor. Next appointment they will consider a localized treatment to kill off more tumors. Surgery is still not an option.

Please share with your contacts. She has gone thru all FDA approved treatments and now they are trying combinations of treatments. Insurance is no longer any help.
