I’ve been a little MIA over here lately… My sweet girl turned ONE🎂 (how?! 🥹), and we took some time away for a family vacation.

It felt so good to unplug for a bit, but I’m excited to be back! 💛 Thanks for being here, and I can’t wait to share more speech tips, activities, and all the fun things we’ve been working on while soaking in the final weeks of summer 😎☀️

Connection over compliance.

Four words that changed how I teach.

Compliance asks: "How do I get this child to do what I want?"

Connection asks: "How do I help this child feel safe enough and understood enough to learn?"

The first one might get you a quiet classroom. The second one gets you a child who trusts you. And no significant learning happens without a significant relationship.

One of the most common things I hear from parents is:

"I’m not sure if my child's speech development on track"

Every child develops at their own pace, but there are general speech and language milestones that can help guide what to expect from ages 1 to 5 years.

These milestones aren't meant to compare children or create worry—they're simply a tool to help identify when a child might benefit from additional support.

If you've ever found yourself wondering whether your child's communication skills are where you'd expect them to be, you're not alone. As a mother of 2 I am constantly questioning if my girls are on track. Trusting your instincts as a parent is important. Asking for help is ok!

Take a few minutes to look through these milestone graphics, and save them for future reference as your child grows.
