🚀 Artificial Intelligence is transforming public health—and the Milford Health Department is committed to leading the way.

This week, the Milford Health Department and the Department of Human Services had the privilege of hosting a two-day AI in Public Health Workshop in partnership with the Kansas Health Institute (KHI) and the Wichita State University Community Engagement Institute. Our staff explored how artificial intelligence can responsibly enhance public health practice through hands-on learning focused on AI foundations, prompt engineering, practical public health applications, AI tools, and the development of organizational AI policies.

A special thank you to our outstanding presenters, Tatiana Lin of the Kansas Health Institute and AAron Davis of Wichita State University Community Engagement Institute, for sharing their nationally recognized expertise and providing practical strategies that our workforce can begin applying immediately.

As public health continues to evolve, embracing emerging technologies is essential to improving efficiency, strengthening decision-making, and ultimately providing even better service to the Milford community. We are excited to continue building our AI knowledge and thoughtfully exploring innovative solutions that support our mission to protect and promote the health of our residents.

We’re grateful to collaborate with our amazing community partners and local leaders—like Kathy Kennedy, MJ Shannon, Milford Prevention Council, Bridges Healthcare, Milford Police Department, Milford Human Services, Milford Youth and Family Services, Milford Public Schools and many more—working side by side for a safer, healthier community💜.

Tonight Milford city hall will shine in purple in honor of this day💜.

🎒📚 A Community Effort to Help Milford Students Start the School Year Strong!

The Milford Youth & Family Services 2026 Back-to-School Backpack Program was a tremendous success, with more than 300 backpacks distributed to local students this year! Each student received a new backpack filled with school supplies, helping them begin the school year prepared and confident.

A special thank you goes to the incredible youth volunteers from the Milford Boys & Girls Club, who dedicated their time to assist with our two drive-through backpack distribution days. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to serving their community helped make the event run smoothly and created a welcoming experience for every family.

We are also deeply grateful to the many community organizations, businesses, and individuals whose generous donations of backpacks and school supplies made this program possible. Your support ensures that Milford students have the tools they need to succeed from day one.

Together, we're making a difference—one backpack, one student, and one act of kindness at a time. 💙🍎
