🌡️ Heat Wave Alert for Milford Residents 🌡️
Governor Lamont has activated Connecticut’s Extreme Hot Weather Protocol from Thursday, June 11 at 10:00 AM through Sunday, June 14 at 6:00 PM as temperatures are expected to climb above 90°F with heat index values reaching 100°F or higher.
To help residents stay safe and cool, the following Milford Cooling Centers are available:
📍 Beth-El Community Kitchen
90 New Haven Avenue
Open daily from 8:00 AM through dinner service (approximately 6:00–7:00 PM)
📍 Milford Public Library
57 New Haven Avenue
• Monday: 10 AM – 5 PM
• Tuesday: 10 AM – 8:30 PM
• Wednesday: 10 AM – 8:30 PM
• Thursday: 10 AM – 8:30 PM
• Friday: 1 PM – 5 PM
• Saturday: 10 AM – 5 PM
• Sunday: Closed
📍 Milford Senior Center
9 Jepson Drive
• Regular Cooling Center Hours: Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM
• During Governor/City Declared Cooling Events: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM
💧 Stay Safe During Extreme Heat
✔ Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty
✔ Limit outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day
✔ Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing
✔ Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may need assistance
✔ Never leave children or pets in parked vehicles
