Happy 6th Birthday to our Snoqualmie Ridge clinic!
What started with treating a handful of patients in a pandemic-emptied building has grown into a clinic that takes the phrase “treat you like family” to heart.

It has been our absolute pleasure to serve the Snoqualmie Valley community, and we’ve made so many great memories along the way. We’re thankful for our strong partnership with Sno-King Ice Arena, for the trust of our wonderful patients, and for the dedication of our incredible team.

We had such a blast teaming up with clinicalathlete to host this sports medicine meet up! It was a great afternoon full of connection and sharing expertise - all focused on our common goal of improving outcomes for our patients and creating positive change in the healthcare community.

We love giving our therapists opportunities to network with and learn from other healthcare professionals. It’s events like these that foster real community and remind us that we’re a team!

Please join us in congratulating Jonathan Suttles, MS, PT on his upcoming retirement! Jonathan opened Argonaut Peak Physical Therapy in 2008 and has been providing impeccable care as a physical therapist for more than 25 years. We’ve been incredibly grateful to work alongside Jonathan for many years and have the privilege of seeing his leadership in action.

Thank you for your commitment to your practice, your patients, and your clinic team. We are so thankful for the opportunity to work with you to serve the Ellensburg community and we will always admire your passion for helping others and providing empathetic care.

It is a bittersweet goodbye, but we will be wishing you a happy retirement, Jonathan. Hopefully this next chapter gives you more time to travel with family, enjoy cycling with friends, and cross off all your “honey do” list items. We will miss your energy and compassion here at IRG, but we are happy to cheer you on as you take the next step in your career. May you have a happy & healthy retirement; you deserve it!

If you’ve torn your ACL, you already know the drill: months of rebuilding your workload capacity, strength, power, and confidence. Somewhere in that timeline, a lot of athletes (and parents) start asking a reasonable question: can I at least start working on my handles or my shot in the meantime?

Too often, we hear from athletes that they haven’t been given the green light to reintegrate back into the court. This is absolutely NO fault of their own!

It is up to the rehab staff to make sure we communicate to the athlete that they should be integrating back into skill work as soon as possible, in a safe and graded manner of course.

Chances are, you know someone who may be struggling with balance problems. As we age, our vision, proprioception, and vestibular systems naturally decline and falls can become more common. The great news is, most balance problems are highly treatable with the right team & strategies.

IRG therapist Dr. Hilary Wirkkala, PT recently presented at the Mukilteo Age Well Expo - sharing her knowledge on balance problems and fall prevention to help seniors stay healthy and independent.

With over 20 years of experience treating neurological conditions in an inpatient rehabilitation setting, Hilary now brings her expertise to outpatient care, supporting individuals in the community. She is specially trained in functional rehabilitation, fall prevention, and gait and balance. Hilary is dedicated to helping patients set meaningful goals, build confidence, and achieve their highest level of independence.

She will be presenting at our Fall Prevention Series throughout October and November in partnership with YMCA of Snohomish County and Providence Swedish. Check out our upcoming events highlight on our profile for more information.

So proud of our very own Dr. David Cacanindin, OT, OTD, CFNIP for leading this talk at the Sno-King Amateur Hockey Coaches Kickoff earlier this month 👏👏

David has 8 years of experience treating critical injuries, complex neurological disorders, orthopedic injuries, neurodivergence, and developmental conditions. As a hockey referee at the collegiate level, he knows the importance of brain health & concussion education firsthand.

His presentation focused on identifying the warning signs of a concussion or brain injury, red flags to look out for on the ice, and next steps for injured athletes to get on the road to recovery quickly and safely. It’s critical for both coaches and parents to know the signs of a brain injury so they can keep their athletes safe and performing at their best.

Our annual splinting workshop was a success! We gathered more than a dozen Occupational and Hand Therapists at our Wallingford clinic to learn from Dr. Nancy Chee, OTD, OTR/L, CHT. Nancy is a senior hand therapist at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco and specializes in the areas of UE rehabilitation with clients after traumatic and chronic hand injuries.

This advanced workshop gave therapists the opportunity to learn from an expert in the field, collaborate with their peers, and expand their clinical expertise to improve their patient care.

We’re so grateful to be able to offer opportunities like this to our team. Special thanks to Nancy Chee & Rozanni Senanayake for arranging the programming of this event, Jennifer Wright & Brynley Bower for leading the charge on setup, and our entire Events team for bringing it all together. We’re especially thankful for North Coast Medical for their continued support of our educational programming and providing lunch for this event.
