At Healing Arts Pediatrics, we are passionate about creating opportunities for our patient families to learn, connect, and support wellness together. This weekend’s workshop focused on making natural skin care and body care products using simple, nourishing ingredients, and we were so grateful to share the experience with such a wonderful group.

Earlier this year, we also hosted a natural cold and flu remedies workshop, and we look forward to continuing these educational events as a regular part of our community offerings. Our goal is to provide practical tools, trusted information, and integrative approaches that support whole-child and family wellness both inside and outside the clinic.

Are you expecting? I can't say enough good things about Birth Smarter's childbirth education classes in SLC and NYC. I sat in on one today and doula Beth Hardy was incredible in her knowledge and gentle guidance. There is no one right way to give birth, but this class will empower you with the information needed to know your options and understand the possibilities so that your baby' birth is the best possible experience for you, your partner, and your baby.

The words we use about our kids matter more than we realize.

Our kids are always listening. What we say can become the story they believe about themselves.

If you slip (we all do!), you can always repair it:

“I shouldn’t have said that. I see so many great qualities in you. Let’s figure out what’s going on.”

Let’s be intentional with our words — they leave lasting imprints.

We are continuing to see measles cases circulating throughout Utah.

One of the most important things parents need to know: measles doesn’t start with a rash.

In the beginning, it can look just like a common cold - runny nose, cough, congestion, red or irritated eyes. The classic rash typically doesn’t appear until day 3–5 of illness.

If your child is unvaccinated or under-vaccinated and develops cold symptoms, please call your healthcare provider’s office before coming in. Let them know your child’s vaccination status and your concerns. This allows the office to take appropriate precautions and protect:

• Babies who are too young to be vaccinated
• Children who are immunocompromised
• Patients undergoing treatments like chemotherapy
• Other vulnerable members of our community

A simple phone call helps keep everyone safer.

As measles cases rise across the country, awareness and prevention matter more than ever. Let’s work together to protect our kids and our community.

After-school meltdowns that no one else sees?

If your daughter holds it together all day at school - only to completely unravel once she gets home - you are not alone. Many girls are incredibly skilled at “masking” in public. They work so hard to fit in, follow rules, and meet expectations… that home becomes the one place they finally feel safe enough to release it all.

Sometimes, this pattern can be a red flag for autism spectrum disorder - especially in girls, who are often underdiagnosed or misdiagnosed because their signs look different and can be more subtle.

If this sounds familiar, it may be worth having a conversation with your child’s provider. Early understanding leads to better support and more peace for your child and your family.
