What worked for you five years ago, last year, or even last month doesn’t have to be the answer forever. Your life changes. Your needs change. Your version of taking care of yourself can change with them.

A useful lab review should leave you with more understanding, not just more numbers to Google in the parking lot. At AVIVA, we want you to understand what was tested, why it matters in the context of your health, and whether the result actually changes what comes next. Bring your questions, including the ones that feel basic. Understanding your care is part of your care.

Protein is showing up in everything from cereal to chips. Sometimes that makes a product genuinely convenient. Sometimes it’s mostly a very persuasive front-of-package claim. Compare the serving you’ll actually eat, look at the whole nutrition label, consider the price, and ask the highly scientific question: Do I even like this? 😅 Food doesn’t become “good” because one nutrient got added to the packaging. Save this for your next snack-aisle investigation.

Feeling tired doesn’t automatically mean you need more caffeine, a new supplement, or more discipline. Sleep, nutrition, hydration, stress, medications, health conditions, and plenty of other factors can affect your energy. Start by noticing what has changed and how long it’s been happening. If fatigue persists or is getting in the way of your daily life, bring that pattern to your healthcare provider rather than trying to troubleshoot it entirely on your own.

Strength training doesn’t have to begin with a complicated gym routine.

These three movements practice things your body uses in everyday life: standing up, pushing, and staying strong through your lower legs. Start at a level that feels appropriate for you and build gradually. The goal isn’t perfect form on day one. It’s creating strength you can use outside the gym.

Which everyday task would you love to feel stronger doing?

Sometimes taking care of yourself looks less like adding something to your routine and more like making room for your own needs in the decisions you’re already making. You’re allowed to be part of the equation, too.

Sometimes the hardest thing to bring up is the thing affecting your life the most. Discomfort during intimacy. A change in your mood. Exhaustion that doesn’t feel like you. You can start with, “This is difficult to explain,” or even, “I’m not sure if this is related.” You don’t need to know where a concern fits before you mention it. We can help decide what belongs in today’s conversation and what deserves its own follow-up. Please bring up the thing you keep almost mentioning.

“Fibermaxxing” is social media’s latest way of making a basic nutrition habit sound extreme. 😅

Paying attention to fiber can absolutely be useful. Beans, lentils, fruits, vegetables, and whole grains are all ways to add more. But suddenly adding a large amount can also mean gas and bloating, so increase gradually and make sure you’re drinking enough fluids. You can borrow the useful part of a wellness trend without turning it into another thing to optimize.
