Pawpaw season is in full swing at Homefields! The season is short, but it sure is sweet!

These fruits are native to Eastern, Southern, and Midwestern areas of the United States. Belonging to the Annonceae family (like the soursop and custard apple), these temperate climate fruits are unique to an otherwise tropical fruit family.

Packed with nutrients, the soft and custard like flesh is rich in Vitamin C, Magnesium, Iron, Copper, Manganese, and Potassium.

They are delicious eaten freshly ripe (you'll know they are ready when they begin to slightly brown and gently give when pressed), or baked in PawPaw bread.

Here at Homefields, we get a kick out of sharing these fruits with our CSA Members every year, celebrating the bounty this land provides. Join our CSA and try them for yourself when available in the September share.

It's a wild world these days, and Homefields is proud to safely feed our community.

When you become a CSA Member, you can walk along the earth that grows your food, and shake the hand of the farmer who stewards that process. Breathe in fresh air and let out a sigh of relief. We've got your back.

Keep an eye open for 2027 CSA share sign ups, coming soon!

Want more time on the farm? Stop by during distribution hours to buy a ticket for Best Kept Secrets Tour ! The tour starts Oct. 8th and we will have surprises, exclusive events, and the opening of our brand new Cottage Shop!
