Behind every research study is a community willing to show up.

The Men Moving Forward program has done more than promote healthier lifestyles—it has helped build the foundation for the work we continue today through the Prostate Health Equity Project. The commitment, trust, and participation of these men have helped generate the data and insights that continue to shape how we educate, engage, and improve prostate health in our community.

To every participant who shared their time, experiences, and commitment to better health—thank you. Your contributions continue to influence research that has the potential to improve and save lives.

We’re also grateful to our partners at MKE Rec for continuing to lead the Men Moving Forward program. If you’re interested in joining a community of men committed to improving their health and wellness, we encourage you to connect with MKE Rec to learn more.

This work is only possible because of the people behind it. And together, we’re continuing to build a healthier future for our community.

What does prostate health mean to you?

The Prostate Health Equity Project is launching a series of community meetups designed to create open conversations around prostate cancer prevention, early detection, and men’s health.

We’re looking for community members who are willing to join us, engage in discussion, and provide feedback on the educational content we’re developing. Your voice and lived experiences will help shape resources that are more meaningful, relevant, and impactful for our community.

Whether you’re looking to learn more about prostate health, support someone you care about, or simply be part of the conversation, we’d love to have you join us.

Space is limited, so be sure to RSVP using the link on the flyer. We hope to see you there.

Every story has the power to change someone else’s future.

In this series, you’ll hear community members share why prostate health matters—from the loss of a loved one to prostate cancer, to the role nutrition plays in overall wellness, and why understanding your risk is so important.

At the Prostate Health Equity Project, we believe education is most powerful when it comes from trusted voices and lived experiences. These conversations help raise awareness, encourage earlier screening, and remind us that taking care of our health starts with speaking about it.

Watch, learn, and share this with someone you care about. One conversation could make all the difference.

The best health messages don’t always come from a podium—they come from the community.

While attending Juneteenth, we asked people a simple question: What do you know about prostate cancer, and what message would you share to help others take a better path toward their health?

The responses were thoughtful, honest, and a reminder that awareness starts with conversation.

Stay tuned—there’s more to come.

What advice would you give someone about taking charge of their health?

Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and community—and we were honored to be part of that spirit this year.

The Prostate Health Equity Project spent the day connecting with community members, sharing resources, having meaningful conversations, and listening to the stories and experiences that continue to shape this work.

Health equity starts with meeting people where they are. Whether through education, awareness, screening conversations, or simply building trust, every interaction matters.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, shared their perspective, completed a survey, or took a moment to learn more about prostate health. Together, we’re continuing to build healthier communities through knowledge, connection, and action.

Men’s health includes mental health.

Research continues to show that strong social connections and supportive communities can positively impact mental well-being. That’s why spaces where men can gather, learn, share experiences, and support one another are so important.

This Men’s Mental Health Month, check in on a brother, have the conversation, and remember that wellness isn’t something we build alone.

What helps you stay mentally well?

At PHEP, we know improving men’s health takes more than awareness 📣. It takes community, movement, education, and consistent engagement.

That’s why partnerships and programs like Men Moving Forward with MKE Rec matter. Creating spaces where Black men can prioritize their physical health, build connection, and stay informed is a critical part of the work.

Prostate cancer remains one of the most commonly diagnosed cancers among Black men, which is why continuing these conversations and supporting healthier lifestyles is so important.

If you’re looking for a positive space to move your body, connect, and invest in your health, follow up with Men Moving Forward through MKE Rec.

This Memorial Day, we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

As we reflect on courage, sacrifice, and community, we also recognize the importance of continuing to care for one another through health, wellness, and support.

Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day from the Prostate Health Equity Project.

Creating safe spaces for Black men to openly discuss their health is powerful, necessary, and life-changing.

When men feel supported, heard, and informed, conversations around prevention, screening, and overall wellness become easier to have. These moments of dialogue help build trust, strengthen community, and encourage earlier action around prostate health.

This is more than awareness. This is community.

What does a safe space for Black men’s health conversations look like to you?
