This team has shown us what determination, teamwork and showing up for one another can accomplish.

We’re excited to partner with 101.7 The Truth for the upcoming Pink & Blue Health Summit, bringing our community together to raise awareness around breast and prostate cancer.

At the Prostate Health Equity Project (PHEP), we believe that better health starts with knowledge, open conversations and understanding our risks. Whether it’s encouraging the men in our lives to learn about prostate health or reminding our loved ones about the importance of breast cancer screening, these conversations matter.

Sometimes the most important thing we can do for someone we care about is simply show up for them.

Victor Barnett shares the story of a close friend who lost his life to prostate cancer and reminds us why having a strong support system matters throughout our health journeys.

Whether it’s encouraging a friend to schedule a screening, accompanying a loved one to an appointment, or simply checking in, having someone who holds us accountable can make a meaningful difference.

And that support goes both ways. When we encourage someone else to prioritize their health, we also become more informed, more aware of our own risks and better equipped to advocate for ourselves.

At the Prostate Health Equity Project (PHEP), we’re working to make these conversations more common among Black men and create a community where no one feels they have to navigate their health journey alone.

We appreciate Victor for sharing his friend’s story and helping us continue this important conversation.

Be your brother’s keeper. Check in. Follow up. Show up.

Sometimes a simple conversation can be the encouragement someone needs to take that next step.

Movement matters, and the work continues.

Research from Men Moving Forward shows the value of helping prostate cancer survivors stay active, build strength and stay connected to community.

That work also helped inform the foundation for what we continue through the Prostate Health Equity Project (PHEP) today: creating opportunities for Black men to learn about prostate health, understand their risk and take an active role in their health.

And Men Moving Forward is still going! Men can register through Milwaukee Recreation to join the program at Marshall Community Center, with sessions on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

What a night! 🏈💙

We had a wonderful time at Game Plan for Life: A Men’s Health Gathering & Watch Party, bringing community, conversation and health together in one space.

More than 60 people joined us, with 40+ participating in our health education activities and more than a dozen Black men taking action by getting a PSA blood test onsite.

That’s what this work is about—creating welcoming spaces where Black men can ask questions, learn their risk, talk openly about their health and take that next step.

Thank you to everyone who attended, our PHEP team, presenters, Health Connections, Summer of ’85, DJ L Boogie and everyone who helped make the evening possible.

The game may be over, but the conversation continues.

What a night!

Thank you to everyone who came out for Game Plan for Life and helped make the evening such a great experience.

From the conversations around prostate health and family history to the screenings, fellowship, food and football, it was great seeing our community come together around men’s health in a way that felt welcoming and real.

A special thank you to our partners, supporters, speakers and everyone who helped make the night possible. Most importantly, thank you to everyone who showed up, participated and brought someone along.

We’re officially 1 day away!

Tomorrow, we’re bringing Game Plan for Life to Milwaukee for an evening centered on men’s health, community, fellowship and football.

Join us for a prostate health conversation, free PSA screenings, food, resources and then stay with us as the Packers take on the Falcons.

This is bigger than the game. It’s about making time for our health, having conversations we may have been putting off and encouraging the men around us to do the same.
