Let’s Get Ahead of October 1, Together

New federal funding rules may take effect October 1, creating uncertainty for those whose work is grant- or institution-funded. SBM is working hard to oppose these proposed changes, but we don’t yet know what’s ahead.

If you have funds available today, joining or renewing your SBM membership before October 1 is one option to consider before potential funding changes take effect.

Plus, join or renew early and you can pay for your 2027 Annual Meeting registration at the member rate now. SBM’s 48th Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions will take place April 14–17, 2027, in Atlanta. You’ll complete the rest of your registration when traditional registration opens in early November.

Healthy habits aren't built overnight.
Science shows there's no one-size-fits-all timeline. While some habits form quickly, others (like regular exercise) can take several months to become part of your routine.

Here's what does help:
✔️ Use a consistent cue
✔️ Choose a healthy behavior you enjoy
✔️ Stay consistent - even if progress feels slow

The best habit is the one you can stick with.
