ANNOUNCEMENT TIME
I started a little side hustle out of my home and called it Skin by Andi. It was just some side work catering towards friends, family and a few very long time clients. I made it a legal business to get all the perks but didn’t intend to do it full time. In the last week, my job situation has changed and I’m no longer with Illume.
While i figure out what i want to do long term, I invite you all to visit my home business. It’s cozy, dark and I have a cute concierge named, Sophie. Maybe if enough of you come, I can grow and continue to work for myself.
Click on the link for services and available timeslots. I’d love to see everyone again soon.

Skin by Andi offers The Basics, The Standard, and Healing Acne Facial in Milwaukee, WI. Book online or call +14147509409.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: PCA Skin
PCA makes blends of acids to target everything from acne to wrinkles to pigment. Their line is very versatile and can be incorporated into facials to make an enhanced treatment. In addition to peels they have a full skincare line that compliments the work we do in the treatment room. One of my favorite peels to use during a facial is the “no peel peel” to provide a great glow up but without the downtime.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: Peel Boosters
These acid blends are used at the end of a treatment to turn a light peel into a medium depth peel. They are typically comprised of retinol and vitamin C and don’t burn or add additional heat as they have a neutral pH. The help facilitate sheet peeling and while the dry skin and flaking is a bit annoying for about a week, the final result is worth the downtime. This isn’t a treatment you would do the week of an event. Plan for about two weeks prior if you’re trying to look radiant for something special.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: Modified Jessner
A blend of three different acids: lactic, resorcinol, and salicylic acid, typically found in an 8-14% concentration. It’s versatile and used to treat everything from acne to wrinkles. Expect moderate to heavier sheet peeling over the course of about a week. This is typically my go to product when for anti aging when i want a good peel.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: TCA (trichloroacetic acid)
Most commonly found in blends, TCA is used for mature, aging skin and is great for lines, wrinkles, and pigmentation. Strong concentrations are used under the eyes to help with that crepey appearance, or to provide a resurfacing effect.
I call it a slow burn acid - the flaking usually lasts a couple of weeks - especially when in a blend of other acids. An esthetician in Wisconsin should not do a TCA peel strong than 15%. Only Physicians can do stronger versions.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: Salicylic Acid
This Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA) is a great help with acne issues, especially in teens and young adults. It can be layers, it’s self neutralizing - meaning it continues to work for up to 24 hours (unless you remove it) post application, and can be combined with other acids like glycolic or lactic acid.

CHEMICAL PEEL 101: iS Clinical Prodigy Peel
A blend of acids to tackle multiple concerns all at once. A light peel that’s best done in a series of three, that will target texture, fine lines, breakouts and pigment. Acid blends are a safe and effective way to meet your skincare goals without breaking the bank.

Revision Skincare® makes exceptional skincare and they are launching two new brightening treatment products:

• Tone+ Correcting Pads
• Advanced Pigment Corrector+

Both are intended to brighten uneven skin tones to reveal brighter more even looking skin.

Use together or individually as the ingredient decks don’t overlap. The pads are filled with AHAs and Kojic acid while the serum uses peptides, resorcinol, antioxidants and botanicals to ensure maximum pigment control.

Thanks Kimberly Krueger for the awesome gift! Can’t wait to try these when i get back from a week on the Portuguese beaches!
