On this day I'm emotional, yet grateful for the foundation,love and guidance I received from my mother, may she R.I.P. 💔🙏🏽❤️ She prayed that one day I'd be blessed with a child and to God be the glory. From the day Miles was born, I have cherished every moment and look forward to many memories to share with him as we embrace all that life has to offer.

Happy Mother's Day to all of my family and friends!!

Wisconsin Breast Cancer Coalition was proud to participate in the Ascension Cancer Survivorship Educational Health Fair today. It was a great opportunity to connect with survivors, family members and providers throughout the state to educate them on what's happening now that Gail’s Law has been signed into law and discuss our upcoming events.

Also, always great to network with our friends from ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis in-between questions and breakout sessions.

Since 2019 I've had the honor and privilege to be surrounded by like minded people who travel from across the country to attend The National Breast Cancer Coalition Leadership Summit and this past week I felt empowered and energized with a sense of purpose. As a newly elected board member and delegate of WI, I'm grateful for the doors that have been opened and mentorship that I've received along the way so I'll continue to use my voice to end breast cancer in memory of my mother and countless women and men who have succumbed to their battle with breast cancer and those who stand beside me sharing their stories as survivors. 🩷

When we all work together so much can be accomplished and knowledge is power. This year we were fortunate to have scientist, Dennis Slamon, who developed Herceptin as one of the arm chair discussions with NBCC President Fran Visco. As well as a host of other scientists and presenters at the top of their field of study educate us on what's happening in real time. Culminating with our Lobby Day on Capitol Hill to advocate for continued research funding and bipartisan support for the Metastatic Breast Cancer Access to Care Act.

Advocacy in action is more powerful than ever right now and I encourage you to use your voice too.

About last night...

A Night Out for ABCD: After Breast Cancer Diagnosis was one for the record books. From the throwback songs of the 80s decade to the wonderful food stations provided by Bartolotta's restaurant we had a time last night!!

I'm so honored to be in partnership with this wonderful organization through my podcast Thepinktabletalk. Each year the ABCD staff and board of directors continue to raise the bar with creative FUNraising ideas and philanthropic support from the community with their peer to peer mentoring services. Here's a glimpse into some of the fun..💜

About Saturday....

Grateful for the opportunity to represent Sisters Network Southeast Wisconsin and gather together for the same purpose at the Sisters Network Inc. Stop the Silence breast cancer 5k walk in Houston, TX. The sea of beautiful faces from participants who traveled far and near warmed my heart as we approached the starting line. 🏃🏾‍♀️🩷 Special thank you to Keeshia Jones our Sisters Network Southeast Wisconsin President for coordinating all of the details so that we would have a wonderful weekend. Shout out to Chuck DjBlackloud Lewis , Erin Lewis and Gran Gran for joining our team.

Later that afternoon our Milwaukee crew gathered for brunch hosted by Deneitra Ham and it was absolutely lovely. Every detail was so well thought out and memorable. Thank you for sharing your story and hospitality with us. Truly a blessing.

As I reflect upon my spring break vacation in Arizona and settle back into the work week in Wisconsin 🌵🌞 I think of hope, love, friendship, kindness, joy, and thoughts of what the future holds. From catching up on morning emails and texts to enjoying the backyard view while eating breakfast with my son and bestie....to the tornadoes, rainy weather 🌧 and meetings this week has caused me to pause and appreciate the little things so much more. Motivation, peace, prayer and positivity is what guides me.💛

I'm extremely grateful for my circle and thankful to God for guiding me through life's journey one step at a time. 🙌🏽

Spring is looking so good to me and I can't wait to see what else is on the horizon for the 2nd quarter of 2026 and the remainder of the year.

Miracles and Blessings to everyone on my timeline. ✨️

Thank you Gaulien Smith for continuing to walk in your purpose and share your lived experience with everyone in the Milwaukee community. Your vision for Gee’s MKE Foundation is exactly what our city needs and your board of directors are top notch and inspired us all last night! Taking Health initiatives for the community to the next level.
