Of course there’s nuance to this - there are times when your body is trying to tell you something and it’s a sign something is truly off.

But what I see quite often is that what you’re feeling is actually just discomfort from expanding your capacity and instead of leaning into it, you’re pulling away and rationalizing it as “listening to your body” when in reality it’s just you wanting to stay comfortable where you’re at.

Except, where you’re at isn’t comfortable either. There’s friction either way.

There’s resentment if you avoid the discomfort and stay where you’re at, always falling short of what you know you’re capable of.

There’s fear if you push past the discomfort and do the thing anyways. It’s choosing what level of uncomfortable you’re willing to be.

Is is the kind of uncomfortable that keeps you frustrated where you’re at or the kind that pushes and stretches you into something you didn’t even know was possible (in the best way)?

If you recognize where you’ve been doing this, and you’re ready to embrace the discomfort, that’s part of what we work on in The Gap, my 1:1 somatic and embodiment container.

You’ll be supported in pushing past that discomfort to see what version of you is on the other side.

I’ve got two spots left, DM me GAP for more details 🦋

I say these with the most compassion because they’re all hard truths I’ve needed to hear/realize at some point too.

Which one resonated the most?

Part of evolving and stepping out of our comfort zone is allowing ourselves to actually DREAM BIG without getting bogged down by the safety of predictability.

What are are you desires/big goals for yourself that you’ve been afraid to say out loud? It doesn’t have to be business/career related, it can be personal too.

I’d love for you to finally say them “out loud” by putting them in the comments, so we can celebrate and hype you up 💃🏻

Most of you already know your patterns.

What you don’t realize is that somewhere along the way, you started believing a story about what those patterns mean.

“I procrastinate, so I must be lazy.”

“I haven’t reached my goals yet, so I must be behind.”

“I keep repeating this pattern, so something must be wrong with me.”

The pattern isn’t usually what keeps us stuck. It’s the meaning we’ve attached to the pattern that does.

Because once you decide you’re lazy, broken, inconsistent, too emotional, too much, or not enough, you start treating yourself like it’s true. And you cannot shame or judge yourself into change.

One of the biggest shifts in my own journey, and in the work I do with clients, is learning how to question the stories we automatically believe about ourselves. To get curious enough to discover what’s actually underneath, because usually there’s more than we think.

Which slide did you see yourself in the most?

By being more present I really just mean enjoying dessert more 😋

I came across this video I recorded last year and it felt so relevant to everything I’ve been talking about lately.

As you’re evolving into these new identities there’s always this sticky in between place, where it can feel like you’re not making progress at all sometimes.

It can be really tough to sit in that and just trust the process (& yourself) but it’s all part of the evolution. Of many, many evolutions we’ll go through in our lifetimes.

It’s about enjoying the journey just as much as the destination.

If you’ve been needing the space to honor this evolution and connect to who you’re becoming, I invite you to join my virtual donation-based breathwork session tomorrow night, 6/11.
