šŸ£Did you know Easter derives from the pagan celebration of ostara, the pegan goddess of fertility. Easter as itā€™s celebrated today carries layers of older seasonal symbolism.

Ostara, a spring equinox festival centered on fertility, renewal, and the return of light. During this time, the earth begins to wake, plants sprout, animals reproduce, and the cycle of life starts again.

The symbols we still see today reflect this:
ā€¢ Eggs represent potential, new life, and creation
ā€¢ Hares symbolize fertility and abundance
ā€¢ Spring itself marks a shift from dormancy to growth

As Christianity spread, these seasonal symbols overlapped with Easterā€™s central meaning, the resurrection of Jesus, creating a holiday that holds both spiritual and natural themes of rebirth.

With everything happening In Minneapolis the last few months I havenā€™t shared much about the new studio. Itā€™s been hard to manage as of late and itā€™s okay to do less in times of great stress and trauma. The occupation from the federal government is far from over but itā€™s important to carve out time for things you enjoy emits time of hardship. Today I hung the shelfā€™s Iā€™ve had leaning against the wall for the last three months. A few weeks ago this task would have been completely overwhelming. Everything at the studio has been moving a lot slower then it usually would and thatā€™s okay. Itā€™s okay to take time to slow down, decompress and process. Lifeā€™s been hard and we will get through it together.

I got this new studio because I wanted to have a space I could take clients as well as work on my creative passions. This change has been bitter sweet, in ways very exciting, and in many ways the excitement of this new chapter dissipated quickly with the reality of ice terrorizing our community. The world just seems to get scarier every day. Itā€™s so important to create your own sanctuary, finding the beauty amongst the chaos. šŸŒˆ

Take some time this week to do something you enjoy. I had a good time organizing my pretty things on these shelves and even though it wasnā€™t the most productive use of my time it still has value. Do something nice for yourself this eclipse week. You deserve it.

Rest ā€¢ Regulate ā€¢ Support Our Neighbors

In a time of deep stress, grief, and uncertainty in our community, we are creating space to slow down and care for our nervous systems, while showing up for those most impacted. All donations go to families in need in these challenging times.

ICE activity and ongoing trauma have made everyday life unsafe for many of our neighbors. Housing insecurity should not be another burden during these already overwhelming times. Keeping families housed is an act of protection, care, and collective healing.

Join us for a donation-based healing gathering offering a sound bath to support rest and regulation. Depending on volunteer availability, sessions may also include reiki, guided meditation, or breathwork.

100% of proceeds will be donated to rent relief and legal funds supporting community members in need.

Join us for a donation-based healing gathering hosted at Yess Yoga, created to help recalibrate your nervous system and offer collective care during uncertain times. Come as you are and give what you can. 100% of proceeds will be donated directly to our neighbors for rental assistance and legal funds.

Each session will vary depending on volunteer availability, but will always include a sound bath, with offerings that may also include reiki, guided meditation, or breathwork.
