Some of the best moments in life are the simplest ones.

Beach day yesterday. Gnome trail the day before.

I’ve always valued experiences and simple moments with my kids. I also know what it’s like to rush through a day, hurry everyone along, feel stressed, overwhelmed, distracted, or pulled in too many directions. I definitely still have those days too.

Over time, I’ve become even more aware of how important these moments really are.

Movement.
Fresh air.
Sunlight.
Play.
Curiosity.
Connection.

Not everything meaningful has to be deep, intense, or productive.

Sometimes life is just meant to be lived.

“Mom can you help me?”

And just like that… her workout was over.

One of my clients was trying to build a workout routine after years of putting herself last.

Every time she started, somebody needed something.

“Can you get me a snack?”
“Can you come here for a second?”

And automatically, she’d stop what she was doing.

Not because she was lazy.
Not because she lacked discipline.

Her nervous system was just deeply conditioned to respond to everyone else before herself.

But one day, she caught it in real time.

Instead of stopping her workout, she said:
“I’ll help you when I’m done in 20 minutes.”

And almost instantly… guilt showed up.

That’s the part people misunderstand.

Sometimes guilt doesn’t mean you’re doing something wrong.

Sometimes it means you’re finally doing something different.

Because when you’ve spent years overgiving, overresponding, and abandoning yourself, showing up for yourself can actually feel uncomfortable at first.

Over time, her workouts became more consistent.
Her energy improved.
Her confidence improved.

But the biggest shift was learning how to stay present through the discomfort instead of automatically reverting back to old patterns.

One of the most powerful shifts I’ve watched in a client had nothing to do with becoming a completely different person.

She was exhausted.
Constantly overthinking.
Second guessing herself.
Emotionally reactive at home because she was running on empty.
Trying to take care of everyone else while ignoring herself in the process.

From the outside, she looked responsible and high functioning.

But underneath that, she felt disconnected from herself and overwhelmed most of the time.

As we worked together, the changes weren’t dramatic overnight.
They were gradual, grounded, and real.

She started setting healthier boundaries around her time and energy.
The constant tension in her home started decreasing.
Arguments became calmer conversations.
She stopped spiraling over every decision and trusted herself more quickly.
She followed through on workouts consistently and felt stronger, more energized, and more confident in her body.
She became calmer and more present with her kids.

Not because she suddenly became perfect.

Because she stopped abandoning herself inside her own life.

That’s the kind of transformation I care about most.

The kind that changes how someone actually feels living their everyday life.

One thing I’ve learned through my own healing journey and years of coaching women:

So many women are fighting themselves… when they actually need support, clarity, and reconnection.

These distinctions matter.

Women often think they’re failing…
when they’re actually exhausted.

They think they’re bad at making decisions…
when they’ve spent years second guessing themselves and overriding their own instincts.

They think they need more discipline…
when they’re emotionally overloaded and disconnected from themselves.

And when they begin recognizing these patterns without shame instead of constantly fighting themselves, the shifts stop being theoretical and start showing up in real life:

• Making decisions without spiraling for days first
• Trusting themselves without needing five other opinions
• Feeling calmer and more present with their kids
• Less resentment and fewer heated arguments at home
• Following through on workouts consistently enough to feel stronger and more energized
• Feeling more productive and focused at work instead of mentally scattered
• Making clearer business decisions with more consistency and growth
• Feeling more like themselves again

That’s why these distinctions matter.

Because sometimes healing doesn’t look dramatic.

Sometimes it looks like finally feeling at peace in your own life again.

There’s a difference between living with abandon… and abandoning yourself.

One feels free.
The other feels like lying awake at night wondering why you’re so exhausted when you “did everything right.”

It looks like saying yes because it’s easier than disappointing someone.
Pushing through another conversation your body is begging to leave.
Sitting in the parking lot needing ten minutes before walking inside.
Overthinking a text for an hour.
Feeling resentful after helping everyone again.
Not knowing if you actually want something… or if you just don’t want to upset anybody.

It’s slowly losing the ability to hear yourself clearly.

And the hard part is, from the outside, it can look like you’re doing well.

Responsible.
Reliable.
Strong.
Productive.
Easygoing.

Meanwhile your body feels tight all the time.
Your mind never shuts off.
You feel emotionally tired in a way sleep doesn’t fix.
And deep down, something feels off… even if your life “looks fine.”

I think a lot of women have spent so many years surviving, caretaking, performing, adapting, and pushing through… that they don’t even realize how disconnected they’ve become from themselves.

Not dramatic.
Not obvious.
Just little moments of overriding themselves all day long.

That’s the difference.

You can live boldly.
Love deeply.
Trust God fully.
Give generously.
Say yes to adventure.
Make sacrifices for people you love.

Without abandoning yourself in the process.

If this hits home, I put a free resource in the comments below. 🌿

I had a little extra pep in my step walking to the mailbox today.

Holding the proof copy of my 30 day devotional in my hands today feels a little surreal.

So many late nights.
So many rewrites.
Constant prayer.
So much heart poured into these pages.

And now it’s real.

This book was written for the overthinkers, the exhausted minds, the people trying to trust God while still battling fear, control, doubt, and uncertainty.

Honestly… I’m emotional seeing it in print.

I’ll share more details and the official link sometime this next week once everything is finalized. But tonight I’m just taking a moment to be grateful. ❤️

Have you ever poured so much into something that when it finally came together… it stopped you in your tracks in the most humbling way?
