It’s gardening season. Just as vegetable and flower gardens benefit from care, we benefit by cultivating our own “garden” for health. We must first plant seeds of intention, defining our goals for healing, resilience, and/or vitality, for example. Nourishing foods are our “fertilizer” for optimal health, repair and development. Just like watering the garden daily, routines help regulate our body systems. Use the foundational check points of stress relief, diet (nutrition) and sleep to help you find a rhythm and pattern for greater health and quality of life.
Contemplation on Nourishment
• Choose a design that prompts you to establish healthy patterns and rhythms in your day, optimizing sleep, nutrition, and stress-relief*.
• As you color, consider what foods to include or lessen within your diet to optimize health and balance. Spring/early summer is a great time to nourish the body with fresh leafy greens!
• Pick a color that feels soothing. Imagine tension softening and releasing out of the muscles. Allow the mind to reset towards clarity.
• Choose another color that inspires the breath. Mindfully breathe as you color your design.
• As you fill your page with color, imagine soaking in the colors as light rays nourishing your body and mind for optimal function, health, and balance.
• As you then move about your day, let this contemplation prompt you to take the actions to foster nourishment of body / mind and validation of spirt.
