Yoga Sanctuary

Yoga Sanctuary Yoga Sanctuary is a nonprofit studio seeking to increase access to holistic yoga for all who seek it

Yoga Sanctuary is a nonprofit, holistic studio, offering a place of respite and integration for your body, mind, and spirit. We seek to teach safe, fun relational yoga every day, to EVERY BODY, offering classes, workshops, and 230hr Yoga Teacher Training at sustainable prices fostering abundant access to holistic yoga. We recognize the disparity and inequity inherent in our country’s origin and in

tentionally offer reduced rates and scholarships to BIPOC folks who have been harmed by systemic racism. If you are experiencing financial hardship and want to join us for yoga, please connect with [email protected] - we want to share yoga, share life and share peace with you. The practice of yoga tells us that everything we need for peace and wholeness is already inside us but living and practicing yoga is best done in the context of a supportive community. Together, we will work to ignite the transformative and healing power of being fully present in our bodies and in our lives.

Youth Yoga starts Tuesday!
These are intentional spaces for youth to unplug, ground, slow down and be more present with the various layers of themselves.

Our series for middle schoolers runs Tuesdays Sept 8 - Oct 27 4:25-5:25 with high schoolers meeting right after 5:25-6:25.

"These classes give [my daughter] an opportunity to relax herselft- emotionally and physically. The tools she learns here- healthy expressing of emotions, kindness to herself and others, and recognizing how her feelings show up in her family are invaluable. The healing and centering she finds in your class has changed her from the inside out. She is calmer, more compassionate and more courageous." -Parent of a Youth Participant

Join Chelsea for a wonderful night of relaxation on Friday September 11th 7-8:30!

During a fully-supported restorative yoga practice, her voice will soothe your nervous system into further release as she reads aloud from excerpts of books, poetry, and short stories.

Note from Chelsea - "I'm looking forward to leading a relaxing restorative class where I can just read to folks! I love reading to people, and I think we give up the art of listening to stories too readily as we grow out of childhood. I'll choose our content carefully from whatever is thematically lighting me up at the moment."

Join Chelsea next week and save your spot by registering at YogaSanctuaryMpls.com/workshops-class-series (link in bio)

We are always telling ourselves something.
We might not notice the narrative because it’s been there for so long. Or we might believe it so deeply that it just feels so obvious that we don’t realize we play a role in its repetition.

When we set intentions around heart-felt desire, it often feels like a lie at first. We say our intentions in the present tense, so that we can practice believing that this is true. And practicing to believe the impossible is the only way we notice when impossible things become true.

"Alice laughed. 'There's no use trying,' she said. 'One can't believe impossible things.' I daresay you haven't had much practice,' said the Queen. 'When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast.”

― Lewis Carroll from Alice in Wonderland

"Not everything you do has
to be self-improving.
you are not a machine
you are a person
without rest
your work can never be full
without play
your mind can never be nourished.

Hi, I'm Dre! The new teacher for Tuesday night's calming yoga beginning August 25th!

As a teacher my goal is to help you navigate your own path toward balance, peace of mind and physical ease. I believe that every person deserves to feel strong and grounded in their own skin which is why I am deeply passionate about the human body and functional movement.

A fun fact about me is that I love to swim — it's honestly my favorite thing in life to do. I grew up in Minnesota, so the lakes have always felt like home.

When I'm not in the studio (or in the lake), you'll find me outdoors camping, hiking, or just hanging out in nature. I also love cooking, spending time in community with friends, traveling and picking up new hobbies.

I'm so excited to be a part of the Yoga Sanctuary community and hope to see more of you in the studio!"

Join us in welcoming Dre to the teaching team!
