Tretinoin is one of the gold-standard ingredients for improving acne, fine lines, texture, and overall skin health—but applying it correctly can make all the difference.

If you’re experiencing dryness, flaking, or irritation, try the “sandwich method” 🥪

✨ Step 1: Apply a layer of moisturizer to clean, dry skin.

✨ Step 2: Apply a pea-sized amount of tretinoin to the entire face.

✨ Step 3: Finish with another layer of moisturizer.

This technique helps buffer the skin and can make tretinoin easier to tolerate—especially when you’re first starting out.

A few tips:
🌙 Start slowly (2–3 nights per week) and increase as tolerated.

🫛 Use only a pea-sized amount.

🌜 Apply at night.

✨ Some dryness, flaking, and irritation are completely normal when starting tretinoin. Your skin is adjusting, and this phase typically improves with time and consistency.

☀️ Wear SPF every day. Tretinoin can make your skin more sensitive to the sun, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy being outside. A quality sunscreen, protective hats, and regular reapplication go a long way in keeping your skin healthy and protected.
