Did you know... doctors in the early 1900's literally prescribed sunlight as medicine. 👀
Swiss physician Dr. Auguste Rollier built 36 sun clinics in the Swiss Alps — south-facing terraces where patients received graduated sunbathing as part of their treatment protocol. He was following work that had just won the Nobel Prize.
After World War I, he reported that 1,746 out of 2,167 tuberculosis patients had recovered under his care. That's an 80% recovery rate from a disease killing 1 in 8 people across Europe.
They healed. With sunlight. 🤯
Then modern medicine started advancing in a way that was faster and more profitable — and we began overlooking what other benefits sunlight might have for us.
